Traditionally, sauna temperatures can go upward of 170 degrees Fahrenheit, and this kind of sustained heat (and the associated humidity) is above and beyond what the Rubio Monocoat Hybrid Exterior Wood Protector is designed for. That, along with the salts and associated other by-products of the sweat on the benches... The manufacturer is not comfortable with recommending this product for that purpose. We do sell samples if you would like to try your outside the box idea but we can't guarantee that it will perform as expected.
