Vermont Natural Coatings Ext. Penetrating WaterProofer is a penetrating sealer. It is completely clear. If you wish to stain the wood, use our VNC Polywhey Ext. Penetrating Stain which is a stain and sealer all in one.If either of these become dried over time (like a couple years), you could then paint over them. We suggest priming first for good adhesion and then applying two coats of our ECOS or AFM non-toxic exterior paints.
