Water popping is the best option to reduce blotchiness. Rubio does not recommend using a pre stain conditioners as those can prevent the proper penetration and bonding of the oil.
I am looking to stain my alder windows and doors to match or compliment my white oak flooring, Darker stains seen to be blotchy. Do you have any recommendations for me?
