We do not sell products that are meant to go over something oil based and seal it. You could sand it down to get all the oil based product off and apply the AFM Safecoat Acrylacq clear coat on the raw wood. Or, if you are keeping the oil finish that is on there, you would first have to apply Zinsser Waxless Shellac that you can purchase at a box store. This is not non toxic but does stick to oil based products, in general. Once that is dry, you would then be able to use the AFM Safecoat Acrylacq over it and seal it in. The Acrylacq does come in a matte finish. You would first need two coats of Acrylacq gloss and then the final coat would be the matte finish. You may order small samples online of the product to test.On top of that, Vermont Exterior Water Proofer should not be used indoors, this is an exterior grade product.
