There is no such thing as a time frame for exterior finishes. It really all depends upon location and weather. It also depends upon cleaning the current surface well before applying the new and prepping it properly. But that's half the battle with any finishes. If the paint is on the North side of the house where it gets less sun and is perhaps protected a bit more from weather, it will last longer than the South side where the sun beats harder on it and weather may blast it more. Or, if it's more humid than dry. Things like that. And that's just a very broad summation of the wear of exterior products.
