We have a table being built from red oak to be a base for our farmhouse sink. This will go into our laundry room and be consistently used. I need a stain and a top coat. This is a nice combination of both, also being user green friendly is a bonus. Would this work for this project?Taking into consideration this table will not be outside, but inside. It needs to be waterproof.

While the Vermont Natural Coatings PolyWhey Exterior Penetrating Wood Stain is specified as an Exterior stain by the manufacturer, it is non-toxic with a low VOC level. In theory, you could use it for your laundry table. However, we recommend using AFM SafeCoat, DuroStain Pro which is an interior stain. Once dry, you would apply either AFM Acrylacq or AFM Polyureseal BP over the stain to give it a clear, durable finish. These AFM clear finishes would last longer and be more water resistant.
