We like how our exterior door looks with a simple coat of linseed oil but want to protect it further. Can a clear Rubio Monocoat Hybrid Exterior Wood Protector be applied on top of wood previously treated with linseed oil? Is there a time period to wait since the linseed oil was first applied or would this product not be compatible with linseed oil? Thanks in advance!

Putting oil on top of oil is tricky, as you need to be able to penetrate into the wood. If the wood is already saturated with oil, it will not take on more oil. You will need to wait until the wood has dried out again (based on the depth of penetration, and exposure to the elements - this could be a couple years) before adding Hybrid Wood Protector. The alternative would be to remove the linseed oil via sanding down to the bare wood again. We do sell samples of this product, so you could test for penetration, a good bond, and to ensure you like the finish before committing to a full can.
