Concrete countertops are difficult to seal for a number of reasons: most are very high density and therefore not very porous. As a consequence our penetrating sealers will not work well unless the countertop is etched. Our topical sealers like AFM Mexeseal MAY work, but not over the top of other sealers. We offer 4oz samples, you can try over an inconspicuous area and see if it gives the desired effect. DISCLAIMER : this is an outside the box use for Mexeseal, not guaranteed by us or the manufacturer, uncharted territory, proceed at your own risk.Marble is generally porous and requires a sealer. However, unpolished or honed marble is more porous and polished marble is much less porous. It is difficult to seal polished marble due to the density and tightness of the surface. Because of this, most penetrating sealers contain solvents to help the sealer penetrate past the surface. Unfortunately, these are generally hazardous to your health. Also, most sealers include antimicrobial agents to inhibit the growth of bacteria, mold and mildew. Unfortunately, we do not offer any sealers for polished marble. However, If your marble is unpolished or honed, (not polished) we recommend 2 or 3 thin coats of our AFM Mexeseal. This non-toxic very low VOC sealer dries completely clear and will not yellow over time.
