The key consideration here is your intended use for Hard Seal. What is your end goal? AFM SafeCoat Hard Seal is a topical gloss finish designed as a final, clear coating and should not be painted over. If your goal is to prepare a wall for painting, we recommend AFM Safecoat Transitional Primer as your priming coat, followed by 2 or more coats of AFM Safecoat Zero VOC Paint. This combination effectively seals in hazardous air pollutants* from your wall.
* Please note: AFM Hard Seal, or any of our other sealer products, will not block organic odors such as essential oils, air fresheners, hair spray, smoke, or pet urine; these organic odors cannot be sealed in with our coatings.
