Amorim Waterproof Cork offers a durable, long lasting, comfortable floor that is 100% water-proof at grade, above grade or below grade. Waterproof, however, does not mean flood-proof. This flooring can be installed via the glue-down or floating method. Concrete subfloors without radiant heat must have a relative humidity of 75% or less. All concrete subfloors require testing for moisture content, and whether new construction or existing slab must have a 6 mil vapor barrier. The flooring requires a climate controlled environment with a temperature range from 65°F to 82°F and a relative humidity range from 35% to 65%. Glue down installation is recommended in areas that may experience frequent water spillage. If you choose to float a floor in areas like bathrooms, laundry rooms or areas where spillages frequently occur, a bead of flexible polyurethane sealant caulk at the edge where the flooring meets the expansion gap can prevent water seeping between the flooring and subfloor. Carefully consult the installation instructions found on the product page.
