Question: can it be used on granite products?
Answer: Yes. It should be diluted first.
Question: This pro version versus power safe versus grout ? I'm going blind trying to compare the smells and dilutions myself. grout smart says it's got a natural orange odor to it, what about the other two? Does this work just fine on grout too, or is it inferior in some way? Looking for something that is low scent and generally good for both odors and mold/mildew/glass etc.
Answer: All 3 of these products are varying degrees of the exact same thing: Hydroxi Pro Concentrate. All 3 have the orange oil additive, because you start with the concentrate. The Powersafe version is pre-diluted, and comes in a handy, ready-to-use spray bottle. The Grout Smart is also based on the concentrate, with a different pre-dilution than the powersafe. If you want to make this easy, buy the concentrate, and use the cut sheet on its web page to dilute the concentrate to the proscribed dilution for your purposes.
Question: Can I use this to clean concrete before applying your AFM SafeCoat, Concrete Floor Paint?
Answer: Yes, you can use this on concrete.
Question: Can product be used to clean 20 year old barrel tile roof to remove algae, mildew & mold, with no scrubbing needed? Roof was cleaned in 2017 with chlorine which damaged the tiles. Home is in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
Answer: While Hydroxi Pro Concentrate is an excellent hydrogen peroxide based cleaner, it can't work without scrubbing and it can't fix damaged tiles. We know of no magic product that will solve all your problems in one stroke.
Question: How can I be proactive about containing the spread of Coronavirus?
Answer: CLEAN, CLEAN, and then do more CLEANING. As the CDC recommends, you should clean and THEN disinfect - a 2 step process. Be sure to clean surfaces multiple times throughout the day and disinfect critical touch points such as doorknobs, handrails, pull handles, phones, keyboards, etc. NOTE: Make sure when using cleaning products, you allow the product the appropriate dwell time. Adopting the "spray and stay" technique allows products with active ingredients to work before you wipe them away, so allow at least a minute before wiping dry. HydroxiPro Concentrate, Powersafe, Wipes, Grout Smart all contain hydrogen peroxide (h2O2, which is registered with the EPA as a disinfectant) and therefore will all be active against bacteria, virus, fungus and anything organic. Also, wash yours hands, wear a mask, practice safe practices like social distancing.
Question: Hello! Is this product color fast to use on soft surfaces? We are needing to mist those surfaces in rental properties to kill virus and germs! Thank you for your time!
Answer: HydrOxi Pro Concentrated Cleaner will not change the color of any surface.
Question: Are there any surfaces or fixture types this should not be used on, for example, the painted brass faucets and handles etc?
Answer: All of Core Products line are safe for use on anything that will not be damaged by water including all stone, metal, and painted surfaces. So you are fine for your faucets and handles and such.
Question: How long does the peroxide need to sit wet on a surface in order to disinfect? I've read 12 minutes, however no mention of this in the description.
Answer: The manufacturer has stated one minute for virus and bacteria, five minutes for fungi. That means if you spray or wipe the surface with HydroxiPro concentrate and let it sit on the surface for one minute, it will be enough to disinfect. That said, there is no reason you could not let it sit for longer, but there is no added benefit in doing so.
Question: Does this or any other of your cleaners serve the purpose of adding it to a final rinse of dishes? I have a household with seniors and another person working and would like to take that extra precaution during this time of pandemic. Thank you
Answer: I've linked the information sheet on various use and dilution suggestions. It could be used in cleaning dishes as well, but would still do a final rinse of just water. Take care.
Question: Is it a disinfectant?
Answer: Because the manufacturer does not pay for EPA registration as that costs thousands of dollars, they can't make that claim. However, it does contain about 4% hydrogen peroxide which is a known disinfectant.
Question: Can this be used on painted walls? We are looking to wipe down all surfaces after our home has mold remediation in crawl space.
Answer: Yes, Hydroxi Pro contains 4.08% hydrogen peroxide which is an excellent choice for cleaning mold and mildew. Let it sit for at least 10 min or longer and it will kill 99.9% of all bacteria. Also, check out our Caliwel paint which will kill mold and inhibit its growth for six years or longer. It is zero VOC and has virtually no odor when dry. It works due to the hydrated lime which has a high pH of 12.4. No other toxic chemicals are used.
Question: Best cleaner for exterior brick column that has mold/mildew from years of neglect? We use a lot of your products, but I'm not sure what would work on EXTERIOR MASONRY. Everyone else says bleach and you know I'm not going there ;- ). Also, anything that might work for concrete driveway when power washing doesn't quite get it all? Thanks!
Answer: HydroxiPro Concentrate will kill mold and mildew if left on the surface for 10 min or longer. Mold can often leave stains and those are challenging to remove without stronger alkaline-based products. Unfortunately, most of them are dangerous to use as they are caustic and often contain toxic chemicals and/or biocides and fungicides (pesticides).
Question: What is the ph of this product? I need a neutral ph cleaner for my floors.
Answer: Per the product's spec sheet, the pH is 6-6.5 .
Question: How do I dilute hydroxi pro with water. How much of each do I use?
Answer: This chart on the spec sheet from the downloads section https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/c... will help you with the amounts needed based upon what you are trying to accomplish.
Question: Do you have a printable copy of the label available?
Answer: Hello,We do not have a printable copy of the label. However you can click on the product picture if you are on the full product page and zoom in on any part of that image. We also have downloads for the product, located on the right hand side of the full product page including SDS sheets, dilutions ratios and general product information.
Question: Can we use it on marble flooring? Do we need to seal the marble first and what should we seal the marble with?
Answer: Yes, our Hydroxipro Concentrated Cleaner can be used on your marble flooring before and after sealing because it has a neutral pH and will not etch the surface. Yes, all natural stone flooring should be sealed according to the manufacturer's recommendations. Unfortunately, we do not offer sealers for Marble flooring as we have not found any that are safe and perform well. Most have solvents or biocides and fungicides which are unsafe and, therefore, we do not support those types of products. If you find one that is safe and works well, please let us know.
Question: Just purchased a display model redwood high-end play set for our kiddo, by Woodplay. We need to clean it, stain it and then seal it. The factory stain has rubbed off in a bunch of places and looks bad. We want non-toxic, no VOCs (or at least very low). What's the best way to clean mold off the end of redwood timber? Any and all help will be welcome!
Answer: Because this has some mold, we will assume it is for outdoor use. First, clean off the existing mold with our HydroxiPro PowerSafe, which is a hydrogen peroxide-based cleaner. Allow the solution to sit for a minimum of 10 minutes to kill the mold. Clean and let dry overnight. Then apply two coats (wet on wet--see instructions) of our Vermont Natural Coatings Polywhey Exterior Stain, which is a water-based, ultra low-VOC stain and sealer all in one. It comes in 5 colors and does an excellent job of protecting the wood outdoors from sun and moisture. It also creates a slight sheen on the surface that makes it easier to clean and inhibits mold.
