Yes, all of EcoStar's Traditional slate and shake tiles are suitable for fire (class A or C) high wind, hail (class 4), rain and high temps, etc. This product is approved and has been designed to comply with the Florida Building Code including the High Velocity Hurricane Zone of the Florida Building Code. See below.
Their class A fire rated (previously called Empire Shake or Empire Slate) products comply with Miami-Dade County Florida's requirements which are the highest in the country. They've been making these for decades and have an excellent track record.
For hot climates, most standard colors are available as a "cool colors" which reflects radiant heat and keeps your home much cooler instead of adsorbing the suns rays.
NOTE: We will ship to a freight forwarder in CA, OR or WA. From there, you will need to arrange shipment to HI.
