Generally penetrating oils don't work well in combination with water-based stains because oil and water don't mix. Maybe after the stain has fully dried out, say two or three months you could try testing it, but we don't recommend it.
Why not use one of our water-based topical finishes such as AFM Acrylacq, assuming this is for indoor use. If outdoors, then you could use our AFM 2K Urethane or Polyureseal EXT. Any of these topical coatings will bond properly and last far longer than the oil. They will also not yellow like oil and will last much longer. They have higher abrasion and moisture resistance and will be much easier to dust and clean.
