Compositek™ is an improved variation of a high density fibreboard (HDF) wood core. In the case of this hardwood flooring, it is engineered wood through and through, no plastics, no fiberglass. When we say "100% hardwood," we mean it.
The term Compositek is used by different companies to mean different things. I found three different businesses talking about Compositek™, Compositek, or ComposiTek™ construction in my Google search this morning while researching your question. There is no connection between the American company that makes fiberglass reinforced polymer structure panels for wastewater treatment plants ("Compositek") and the company that makes RV trailers (ComposiTek™), and the European manufacturer who makes our flooring (who uses the term Compositek™) , beyond everyone liking the name "Compositek"
