For the best results with ECOS Interior Floor Paint, we recommend using an ECOS primer underneath, as these products are designed to work seamlessly together. While it is technically possible to use another water-based primer, such as Kilz Restoration, under this eco-friendly floor paint, we have not tested ECOS over Kilz. Also note that ECOS is a non-toxic floor paint with zero VOCs and is not encapsulating, while Kilz Restoration contains VOCs and will off-gas ... even after being top-coated with ECOS. For optimal results, we recommend you stick with the ECOS system.
