Question: Do you sell flooring transitions to connect between rooms?
Answer: Yes, we offer T moldings, thresholds, reducers, stair nosings and quarter round that coordinate with the color of the flooring. Lead time is about 2-3 weeks. For price quotes, please call us at 800-405-0222 9-5PM CST.
Question: Is there a way to purchase a full board as a sample instead of just the smaller sample box (which I had already ordered)?
Answer: There is no way to purchase just one board. You may purchase small samples as the sample box or a full box of flooring which would be non refundable. The only other option would be to swing by our brick-and-mortar store (in Fairfield, Iowa), based on your geographic location (might be a stretch), but putting it out there. You could then look at full size boards in our showroom.
Question: When installing click-lock floors, you get in a bind if one plank gets messed up because you typically have "broken" the click-lock seal, how do you remove the one broken piece without messing up the entire installation? If we needed to replace one piece down the line, would you have to pull up the whole floor?
Answer: There are ways to cut out the damaged piece of flooring, the only issue with doing it that way is you would have to glue that piece back into place. If you would like a more in depth explanation you could give our owner Joel a call he has the most technical knowledge when it comes to installation. Question: good for a damp basement?
Answer: All floating floors require a clean, dry and even surface. It is very important to determine the source of any dampness when installing any flooring in a basement. If the dampness is due to condensation, then a dehumidifier may be the solution.Test the concrete floor to determine the moisture content. Moisture meters or calcium chloride tests are options available to your installer, or they can be found online or even rented. A vapor barrier is required over concrete, usually in the form of 6 MM polyethylene like our MoistureBlock Pro or padded QuietWalk Plus.
Question: How can I access a product's EPD and LCA documentation?
Answer: That is located in the Downloads section on the right side of the page. Here you are:https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/c...The EPD actually has the same information as the LCA. The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is an LCA.Most detailed LCAs contain proprietary information and, therefore, are not published outside the organization. Thus, an EPD, which is meant for public consumption, contains information to qualify as a LCA.In fact, it is referred to as a LCA in the actual EPD.EPDs contribute to LEED credits due to the fact they are Life Cycle Assessments.
Question: Is this floor safe from harmful gases? I suffer from asthma so have to remove all carpet in the bedrooms so want to be sure it is a safe product. Thank you
Answer: Yes, this floor is safe for everyone, including those with asthma, allergies, or chemical sensitivities. It has no added formaldehyde and zero VOC emissions. Additionally, per the description, "the GBS Waterproof Hardwood flooring is third-party certified by Svanen (Nordic eco-label), GreenGuard Gold (Underwriters Laboratories), SundaHus (European Parliament), and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council). Together, these organizations provide trust that this product is safe, sustainable and socially, economically and environmentally responsible from cradle to cradle."
Question: How much of this do you have to order to receive free shipping?
Answer: Per the information at the top of the page: "FREE Shipping at 500+ Square Feet ".
Question: I understand this has Greenguard Gold certification. Is this also CARB Phase 2 compliant?
Answer: To be Greenguard Gold certified, a floor would also be CARB 2 compliant. CARB 2 addresses only formaldehyde in composite wood, where Greenguard looks at formaldehyde as well as a number of other chemicals and VOCs in a wider variety of products. Greenguard Gold is much more strict as well, allowing only 0.0073 ppm (parts per million) of formaldehyde emissions, where CARB 2 compliant flooring needs to be below 0.11 ppm. Our GBS Waterproof hardwood is zero VOC with no added urea formaldehyde. It is "third-party certified by Svanen (Nordic eco-label), GreenGuard Gold (Underwriters Laboratories), SundaHus (European Parliament), and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council). Together, these organizations provide trust that this product is safe, sustainable and socially, economically and environmentally responsible from cradle to grave."

Question: Do the GBS Waterproof Hardwood Click Flooring need an underlayment when used on a concrete floor?
Answer: Yes. You should use the QuietWalk Plus underlayment when applying it over concrete.
Question: Will this flooring dent if a jar, bottle or can were to fall on it?
Answer: Empowered by the patented Woodura surface technology, this new class of hardened wood flooring has 3 X the impact resistance of traditional hardwood due to the tough pro matt lacquer finish and the ultra-dense high-compression Compositek core. It hasn't necessarily been tested directly for dropping jars or bottles on it. Order the sample box online and test them.
