Answer: The 3 in 1 non-toxic adhesive was designed for small backsplash tiles as well as other light duty projects. It does not replace grout.

Answer: It is best, in that situation, to use what the manufacturer suggest.

Question: Can this product be used to bond Advantech subflooring to floor materials? Advantech is impregnated with resin and paraffin wax, and says it can only be used with solvent or urethane-based adhesives.
Answer: You will need to ask Advantech if they feel this will work on their product. We do not sell Advantech, nor have we tested Taylor on Advantech, so could not say.

Question: Hi! I have a straw bale house with a plaster exterior finish. There are small cracks opening up at the corners of the window bucks. Would this product be a good choice to seal them up?
Answer: There should be no issues bonding and filling cracks in plaster and zero reaction to the straw as Chem Link products are 100% solid solvent-free. Plus you can paint to match if needed within 24 hours. This is only if the crack is 1/2 inch or less. If it's more, we sell nothing that will work.

Question: I purchased this last March and only used a little of it. Is it still good to use or do I need to throw it out?
Answer: The shelf life for Rubio Wood Filler Putty is 12 months unopened and unmixed. If it is opened but not mixed, the shelf life is probably similar to unopened if you put in a ziplock or something to keep moisture out. But there has been no testing to know for sure. If it is mixed, you need to use it right away or it will start to set.

Question: Which would be the best product to re caulk painted drywall and formica behind sink? Thank you.
Answer: If the area you are sealing is visible and you would like a clear caulk, we recommend the ChemLink Clear Polyether Sealant. If the area is not visible or you plan to paint over it, the AFM Caulking Compound which is white, will be fine for your project as well. All of these caulks can be used inside or outside, and are paintable after 24 hours.

Question: It says must be applied to porous substrate. If I sealed plywood underlayment with Afm safe seal does that mean it is no longer porous and this glue can't be used?
Answer: Correct. Per the instructions the adhesive has to go directly on unsealed (and porous) plywood.

Question: I need to glue a sauna TV to the cedar siding to hold it and create a seal. The tv sits in a recessed box. The manufacturer says to use 100% Silicon. Will any of your products work for my use?
Answer: We do not sell a product that will work well for that application .

Answer: Maybe. It all depends on the weight of the metal cloth and whether it is hanging vertically. You might try our Almighty Adhesive which is much stronger.

Question: Will this product block radon gas? I am trying to caulk the perimeter of a slab on grade interior floor where the stem wall meets the slab. I see that Dynoseal specs list radon but would prefer to use a product for caulk gun application if possible.
Answer: We do not sell any products for that use that will block radon.

Question: Would ChemLink Clear be appropriate to seal a skylight on the roof? If not, may you please recommend a more suitable product? Thank you.
Answer: If it's a leaking/cracked skylight, then this may not be the ideal application for Chem Link Clear or any other caulks we sell. If it's leaking, how much is it leaking and where is coming from? If you can identify the leak point, then have a contractor look into it to see what needs to be done. Or is it the glass that is having an issue? Again, the caulks wouldn't work for that. The caulks we sell aren't meant to stop water leaks. If you are just needing caulking, in general, around a skylight, then yes, you could use that. Answer: We do not sell a product that would work for that use.

Question: Would any of your products be appropriate to adhere concrete blocks for an organic raised vegetable garden?
Answer: Yes. Chem Link products, including M-1, are USDA approved and contain no solvents or hazardous air pollutants and have less VOCs than standard tap/drinking water. So M-1 would work great.

Answer: Because it is an adhesive, it is not paintable. If you are needing a standard caulk that is paintable, AFM SafeCoat, Caulking Compound.

Answer: M-1 would be a great fit for that application. Just remove any cement board dust to assure maximum adhesion.

Question: Would this sealant be hard for rodents to chew through?
Answer: Even the hard shore A sealants, like our M-1, are eventually able to be chewed through by rodents. Their teeth are like scissors.

Answer: The putty needs a surface to stick to. If it gets to be too big, it will droop as it's just basically working against gravity, at that point.

Question: Is this safe for using in a house with a pet parrot? We would be using it in the bathroom, and have the door closed, and have the exhaust fan on while the caulk cures.
Answer: This is a non-toxic product for humans with ultra-low VOC and it contains no hazardous air pollutants. There is very minimal odor when wet and after a day it has usually dissipated. However, there has been no testing done on birds or animals. You will need to test a small amount for your pets specific tolerances.

Question: I'm using M-1 adhesive to attach heat cable clips to asphalt shingles. Our daytime temps are 40-50F. Night temps are 15-30F. We have rain/snow in the forecast. Can I apply M-1 during the day when 40-50F if the temps will be below freezing at night and with rain/snow expected in the following day or two?
Answer: While M-1 can be used in temps below -40 degrees F, the application needs to be done above freezing. Generally it is best to apply when temps are 32 degrees F or greater for one day before, during and after application. Chemlink also recommends storing at room temperature before applying to ensure easy gunning and tooling.

I have an extreme allergy to the isothiazolinone family of preservatives, including methylisothiazolinone (MI), methylchloroisothiazolinone (MCI), benzisothiazolinone (BIT), and octylisothiazolinone (OIT). Can this or any other of your products be used to apply vinyl plank floor to a non porous concrete slab in a bathroom? If not, are you aware of any adhesives for vinyl flooring that are free of isothiazolinones?
Answer: Yes, this AFM 3 in 1 adhesive will work. Our Taylor Resolute may also be suitable, but we don't have complete ingredient transparency so you should contact Taylor tech support for more details.

Answer: Sorry, this product can only handle temperatures up to 170 degrees F. We don't offer anything that can handle 200 degrees F.

Answer: HDPE stands for high density polyethylene. Bathtubs are not made of HDPE. Instead they are usually either fiberglass, acrylic or cast iron. The caulking compound will adhere very well to these types of bathtubs.

Question: In a bathtub, should I grout to the base of tub? If so, should I put caulk over the grout? What about corners of the walls? Can I color match the caulk to the grout?
Answer: Assuming ceramic or porcelain tile is being used, they will both expand and crack the grout if used against the tub. Better to use caulk. Same for tiled corners of the wall. Unfortunately, we do not offer a non-toxic caulk that can be color matched to the grout.

Answer: M1 does not adhere well to Tyvek (like most sealants and tapes) as it's woven from a mixture of polyethylene/polypropylene making it difficult to bond well to.

Answer: Almighty Adhesive is so strong that, if you used it to glue a mirror to a wall, you'd never be able to remove it without tearing up the drywall. It would leave a mess of a wall.

Answer: No, the Wood filler putty is designed to be sanded and stained with the color of stain that you are using on the rest of the wood. It is fast curing and can be sanded and stained easily with oils from Rubio Monocoat, or primed and painted with any water-based paint.THAT SAID: As stain is tinted yet transparent, it will still show areas with wood filler applied. If you were to use the lightest color filler on a dark wood, if you stain over it, that lightness would show through to a degree. For best results, pick the filler powder color closest to the tone of the wood you are using.

Answer: That is correct the Chemlink clear will not bond to the backer rod. Unfortunately none of the caulking products we carry will bond to the backer rod.

Answer: M1 would be a good choice depending on the planned use as it is considered a structural adhesive/sealant and very difficult to remove once it's deep cured (7 days). NovaLink 35 would be a great choice as a general adhesive/sealant.

Answer: While Almighty Adhesive is safe, has very low odor and no hazardous ingredients, it is not made for food contact. It is an adhesive that bonds materials together. There should be very little exposure to food, if any after using this.

Question: I'm confused about the VOC content. Here it's listed as 35 g/L, the SDS sheet shows 14.67 g/L, then the ingredients list seems to apply 0 g/L and 19 g/L at 240 F. So what is it exactly? Why are there completely different numbers reported all around on the product page?
Answer: Right, AFM is located in S. Calif and they have different listing requirements there than anywhere else in the US. Ask the folks at the California SouthCoast Air Quality department why they require VOC numbers at different temperatures and you'll get different answers. The AFM ingredients list is old and outdated. We will ask AFM to update this. Thanks for pointing it out. Almighty Adhesive is a very low odor product and dries quickly and then emits no odor within a day or so.

Question: How much SafeCoat adhesive would I need for 16 square feet ceramic tile. How long does product last once can is opened?
Answer: AFM 3 in 1 adhesive is mainly for backsplashes and not large wall or floor tiles. One gallon will be plenty for 16 SF of small mosaic or subway tiles. Use thinset mortar for most other tile applications. Once opened, it might last another 6 months to a year depending upon how well you cover the lid. Use Saran wrap over the top before closing and store in a cool dry place.

Answer: That is correct we switched to the wakol d3540 it performs better than the DriTac 5800. The DriTac 5800 can be used on any resilient flooring types.

Question: is this compatible with with acrylic elastomeric coating?
Answer: M1 is compatible with many acrylic coatings, depending on the application. If you are using the acrylic over M1, allow M1 to cure 24 hours prior to coating. But if you are applying M1 over an existing acrylic coating, you should perform a peel (adhesion) test to make sure the coating has an acceptable bond to the substrate prior to any repairs made using M1.

Question: will this bond to polystyrene? Looking to use it on ceiling tiles
Answer: ChemLink, NovaLink 35 All-Weather Construction Sealant or ChemLink, M-1 Universal Structural Adhesive/Sealant would work on polystyrene. These products have 35% joint movement which is more than plenty for any expansion/contraction. M1 would be the strongest but also be the most difficult to remove when that time comes.

Question: I'm looking for a non toxic sealant that can be used in my vegetable garden. I use clay pots for watering and I'm in need of a sealant to adhere to the clay pots. It must be good grade and non toxic. Is this safe to use in an organic garden? Will it leach chemicals into the water we use for good?
Answer: This caulking compound isn't meant to be used in an area with that much constant water. For lining a garden bed, we suggest AFM SafeCoat, DynoSeal. Safecoat DynoSeal is a high-performance sealer above or below grade that stops moisture, moisture vapor and radon gas. It is elastomeric which means it remains flexible for a long time and is ideal for repairing roofs, flashing, shingles, and metal seams. It is also ideal for underground applications such as: foundation walls, fence posts, and raised garden beds. It will not leach into the soil. The color is very dark bronze.Dynoseal is a behind-the-scenes product that is meant to be covered up and not exposed directly to the sun or elements. So you would want to make sure the soil covers it.

Answer: We would suggest trying mineral spirits first. Depending on the amount, possibly a light sanding to remove it. We do carry Forbo Finish if necessary to reseal the floor after removing the glue.

Question: I need an adhesive caulk for installing Thermax rigid foam in my rim joists. I know you have to be careful not to use petroleum-based adhesives or it will "melt." Just double-checking that this isn't?
Answer: Per ChemLink, M-1 Universal Structural Adhesive/Sealant will adhere to the aluminum facer without any compatibility issues.

Answer: Almighty Adhesive is primarily made for interior use. Please use our Chemlink M-1 which is a liquid nails substitute. It is an adhesive and sealant that is non-toxic and dries much faster.

Question: Does this caulk contain any isothiazolinones? I have an allergy and the products I use cannot have any, no matter how small. I will be using this product indoors and it is extremely important it not contain any.
Answer: None. No formaldehyde, VOCs, PFAS or other hazardous air pollutants. The ingredients are as follows: Modified Acrylic Copolymer, Titanium Dioxide, Water, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Muscovite Mica, Propylene Glycol. Hope this helps.

Answer: We would suggest giving us a call to discuss details to your project. The caulking compound is meant to be fully cured after 24 hours, yet it may depend on where/how it's been applied. Once it is cured, it will be dry to the touch and no odor.

Answer: It's strong enough to do so. But usually flooring to be installed on stairs likes an adhesive that is spreadable. This is a caulk and very "caulk like". Answer: Yes, this will work as long as the carpet is NOT Wool Carpet. If it is wool carpet we don't have any adhesive that will work.

Answer: Taylor does not disclose what kind of antimicrobials they use as it is not required for Safety Data Sheets. While we generally don't like antimicrobials either, this product has a Mindful Materials label and is Red List Free which means there are no hazardous or potentially harmful chemicals - if their antimicrobials were bad or even potentially hazardous, it would have shown up on the Red List. (The RED list includes more than 3000 + hazardous and potentially hazardous chemicals and is similar to the European hazards lists.) It is also third party certified by Floor Score, GreenGuard Gold, and Material Health Bronze. Finally, our experience with this product with chemically sensitive customers has proven to be harmless and completely acceptable. This product has very low odor when wet and no odor when dry and is highly moisture resistant. It is by far one of the safest and best performing products we offer. We have yet to find anything better.

Answer: Please be sure to follow the manufacturers directions as every floor is different.In principle, it's best not to block the expansion of the floor. It needs to expand and contract with the changes in humidity. If you fill with caulk, the floor may not be able to move sideways so it moves upwards and buckles. Generally expansion gaps are covered with a molding such as a T mold or overlap reducer. There is still wiggle room underneath the molding for the floor to continue to expand as needed. Unfortunately, this is not waterproof should water get underneath. However, it is breathable, so water vapor can escape and dry out over time.

Answer: If adhesive came up through the seam, there are a few ways to clean this up. If you are able to wipe it up while the adhesive is still in a wet state, a damp cloth would do the trick. If the adhesive has dried on the surface of the Marmoleum, you could use some mineral spirits or Forbo adhesive remover (which we do not sell) to clean up the residue. You would need to then clean the area with the Forbo, Marmoleum Neutral pH Cleaner after either of these option to ensure any residue from either is also cleaned up.

Answer: Thinset mortar is what is generally used for installing any type of floor tile. The 3 in 1 can be used for smaller projects, if desired, but is generally too expensive compared to traditional thinkset. There is nothing harmful about thinset mortar except the crystalline silicates which are a respiratory hazard only during mixing. It is considered an occupational hazard but not a consumer hazard as the exposure is very limited and as soon as it is mixed in the bucked, there is no exposure.

Question: I plan to install the waterproof cork on a concrete slab in a daylight basement that i recently removed glue down commercial carpet from. since removing the carpet it smells very musty down there. I was going to float the floor over the poly vapor barrier but was advised to look at this Taylor product and glue down the floor. My questions are: Will this product prevent vapor from traveling up through the slab? Will the old carpet adhesive need to be completely removed? Will scraping it off be sufficient or will it need to be sanded? Will this solve the odor problem.Thanks
Answer: According to the manufacturer, Taylor Resolute creates an unlimited vapor barrier which means it will prevent vapor from coming up through the subfloor and into your flooring. In addition, Resolute requires no shot/bead blasting, which means scraping off the adhesive is good enough. Their product also requires no relative humidity, pH or moisture vapor emissions testing either. This is as good as it gets for retarding moisture. Depending upon what type of odor problem you have, it will certainly help but neither Taylor nor GBS make any claims about blocking odors. Our experience is the these types of adhesives work well, but there are no standard test methods utilized for blocking odor; our customers say it helps, but often don't know the nature or extent of their odor problems. Please be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions.

Question: Hi we mistakenly spilled some of this on our timber floorboards what is the best non toxic smelling way to remove it? I have severe asthma.
Answer: Use clean water and a white scrubby pad. Work the scrubby pad in a circular motion. This is if it is on a finished floor.If it is raw wood/not finished at all then it is to be sanded away and that will remove the filler from the surface.

Almighty Adhesive bonds fast to almost anything except certain plastics (PET, PPE), has very low odor, cures fast, and it's hold is tenacious. Answer: Per the Technical Data Sheet Overview (direct link below), this caulk has a service range between -40 degrees F to 200 degrees F. Which can look pretty narrow if you know the interior of your fireplace can get above 1,000 degrees. We would advise you carefully measure where you are planning to caulk to make sure you are within acceptable ranges. Answer: Yes. Generally, granite countertops are applied next to one or more walls and are not very movable especially when attached to a sink and drain. Another alternative is to use our Chemlink Clear and apply below the front lip all along the front edge of the cabinet frame. The Clear can also be used on top of the cabinets frame but not much is required as these tops are so heavy and locked in they are not going anywhere.

Question: I am building a campervan and I am planning on putting the foam and foil insulation (Smart Shield from Amazon) on the ceiling (aluminum). The insulation is the thin and flexible stuff that comes rolled, I need something that will instantly be able to hold it up or I don't know how I will get it to closely and evenly bond with the ceiling so that it prevents condensation forming and deadens sound from the metal vibrating. Will this work or what do you recommend?
Answer: You will need contact adhesive for that and we don't sell anything of that sort. I'd recommend checking with the manufacturer's instructions of the Smart Shield and seeing what they recommend for adhesion.

Answer: Some people use a long xxxx or nail and then cover with duct tape or plastic wrap.Most hardware and box stores carry a small plastic piece designed to seal the tip. Nothing works perfectly as air always manages to get into the tube and hardens the caulk over time.

Answer: This wood filler / spackle would be good at filling in small holes and grooves in wood. However it is not structurally robust enough to do things larger than 1/8" across. (edit: You *might* be able to do cracks as large as 1/4", but do note that larger gaps mean longer dry times for the water to evaporate. Anything larger is better served by using either caulking or epoxy fillers).If you are painting over this, we carry products from ECOS and AFM Safecoat. The main difference between the two brands is AFM Safecoat is formulated to encapsulate surfaces, so if one of your goals is to prevent off-gassing go with AFM Transitional Primer. If you do not care about encapsulation, ECOS Universal Primer would also work.Top coat depends on where the painting is occurring. You will want an exterior grade product if this is outdoors. Otherwise you can use an interior grade paint.

Question: Would this be suitable for caulking metal roofing seams on an RV. How long would I expect it to last in this situation and how easy is it to scrape off and replace?
Answer: According to ChemLink, Clear could be used for this application, As far as how long it lasts, it all depends on the heat/sun, cold/ice & wind. Typically the sealants last 10+ years under normal roofing conditions across the country.The other question about "how easy is it to scrape off" is of concern if you've used something else in the past to seal these seams. If you previously used silicone, most cheaper silicones will leave residues which leach into the surface making it really difficult to get another sealant chemistry to stick/adhere. ChemLink has metal roofers all over the country that use Clear to seal their seams. This is all on good authority of the tech department at ChemLink.

Answer: I honestly don't see why not, provided the chickens aren't eating it directly. Answer: The Chem-Link M-1 is a long lasting adhesive/sealant that cures very hard. Chemlink recommends a primer be used first for areas of prolonged immersion. There has been no testing done on animals or plants so we have no way of knowing what impact this might have. Based on our experience of this product for 15 years, this product is safe for humans and satisfies all California air quality requirements of CARB, BAAQMD and SCAQMD. Answer: Assuming this is an undermount sink, we recommend our construction adhesive called AFM Almighty Adhesive. This is usually used in conjunction with clips attached to the bottom of the countertop. The Chemlink CLEAR should be used where the countertop meets the sink to prevent water from leaking under the countertop. It can also be used between the countertop and the backsplash.

Answer: The AFM Almighty Adhesive is made for interior only. For exterior applications, we recommend our M-1 which is an adhesive and a sealant which is a heavy duty product made for commercial and industrial roofing. Because we are not familiar with your elastomeric waterproofing, you will need to test it to confirm that it adheres properly.

Question: Why did you stop carrying ChemLink's DURASIL product? I'm looking for caulking for wet areas, in white. I even went onto the CHEMLINK site but it seems they also only offer translucent.
Answer: Durasil is a silicone replacement which was designed for extreme conditions of temperature up to 400 degrees and elasticity of 50% joint movement. These requirements are not normally found inside of a residence which is why we stopped selling this product. We offer an excellent alternative, our NovaLink 35 or our AFM Caulking Compound comes in white, is paintable and is flexible up to 35% joint movement. It will perform just fine in wet areas. I've had it in my own shower for several years with no issues.

Answer: By "treated wood" we are referring to pressure treated/chemically infused construction lumber. Stained or sealed trim is a bird of a different color, you can caulk that anytime.

Answer: Everyone has different tolerances and most people are not affected by Titanium Dioxide. It is used in all sorts of cosmetics and even food. OUr Chemlink CLEAR has none in it. Try that one.

Answer: DriTac 7700 Easy Clean - 4 Gallon is the only glue we sell that suggests it is usable for vinyl flooring. Using a product in a caulk tube will not do well as it will be thick and not set well and low to the floor as you would like for walking on.

To smooth out the surface it's best to use rubbing alcohol instead of water. If that bothers you, then use a few drops of liquid Dawn or Joy dish soap.

Question: I am creating a 42" x 25" pine countertop; three pieces of pine need to be glued together with a food-safe adhesive. Can you please recommend the correct non-toxic item? Thank you.
Answer: For this project you are going to want a carpenter grade glue (we do not sell those, but they can be found in most major box stores, I like Gorilla and Titebond III). I can't speak to food safety on those glues, but if you are gluing your countertop together, then food is not going to come into contact with the glue. 3-in-1 Adhesive is made for carpet and wall tiles, it lacks the formulation to work on wood countertops.

Answer: Making the assumption that you are using this caulk to affix seashells to a wooden frame around a mirror. We consulted with the manufacturer and together we theorize that using this building material in this fashion could work okay (it's a question no one has asked before). Try a tube and see, and let us know how it turns out. We should underline that you cannot use this to affix shells directly to the glass/mirror surface itself, it would definitely not work for that.

Question: You state that the area must be climate controlled before, during and after installation. For an RV/Fifth Wheel would it not be sufficient to keep the interior AC running continuously to provide that temperature, or does the external side (bottom) of the vehicle floor also need to be at that temperature? I'm wondering why I would need to keep my RV in a climate controlled garage before/during/after the process.
Answer: The instructions are worded that way for a reason. The reason you want the RV to be in a climate controlled garage is the temperature of the interior and exterior will be affecting the surface you are applying the glue to, and the surface you are placing atop the glue. If you have temperature and/or humidity fluctuations, layers are going to contract or expand, and if this is happening while the glue is in the process of drying it can adversely affect the bond of the glue to the surface the glue is over, and the surface over the glue. In even briefer terms, it will void the warranty if directions are not followed to the letter.

If the Polyureseal BP is well adhered to the wood, you could just rough up the Polyureseal BP and then use the Almighty and stick it to the galvanized. However, if the Polyureseal BP is not well adhered to the wood, for some reason, then the adhesive is just sticking to the Polyureseal BP and, if loose, will just come off with the loose Polyureseal BP. This is why you would be better off to test this situation.

However, it is made for home projects as opposed to animal habitats and we can't say how the sensitivities of animals may be affected as it has not been tested on animals.

Question: Hi. I just moved into an apartment where the laminate wood vinyl flooring wasn't installed well in terms of they used an inadequate adhesive. Therefore when it gets hot they come apart and rise up. I just need to glue them back down with something that is permanent, bonds quickly and stays bonded, easy to apply and eco friendly. Answer: If this flooring was glued down, the our AFM Almighty Adhesive would provide a solid bond to your subfloor. This assumes your laminate it is not a floating floor as that would prevent the floor from expanding and contracting and adhesive would surely cause the floor to buckle.

Answer: The Almighty Adhesive is similar to a "Liquid Nails" product. Though not intended to be used on such a material, Almighty Adhesive bonds to most non-porous and porous materials. We can't say for sure if it would bond to your dog toy but the chances are good it might work for you.

Answer: Yes, assuming your are simply filling small holes or small indentations. Hot mud is drywall mud that sets up faster and is stronger than regular drywall mud. If you are plastering over this, the ECOS Drywall Spackle should work fine unless there is some other requirements not mentioned.

Answer: Bear in mind, asbestos mitigation requires professional installation and we always suggest consulting them first.Regarding Forbo's 1195: this is designed to glue Marmoleum sheeting or tile to a flat smooth clean subfloor and not over asbestos or any tile flooring. We recommend our AFM Roof Guard which is a thick white paste-like substance that is safe, non-toxic and can be troweled over the surface to help prevent asbestos particles from becoming airborne. While it is not exactly a floor leveler, per se, it can be used that way. It works well beneath most floating engineered floors that we offer such as hardwood, bamboo, cork, or Marmoleum click Cinch Loc. Once applied, we also recommend using a vapor barrier such as our Moisture Block before applying the flooring on top.

However, there is limit to the size of the tile it can hold, especially on vertical surfaces. Durasil comes in 10 oz. tubes in translucent and white color.

Answer: The woodlock mechanism, especially the 5S system is so strong you should not need any additional adhesive. It can be used in the woodlock if you wish, but bear in mind, it will be near impossible to unclick the planks should you ever need to remove them. Kahrs Landobond adhesive was originally designed for tongue and groove style Kahrs flooring 15+ years ago.The only time this might be useful with the Woodlock mechanism is when the edge is chiseled off so the planks can be attached more easily through doorways or in tight areas. Question: Can this be used adhering XPS foam insulation to concrete foundation wall? I see foam and masonry as a material it can be used with from your website, but I don't see foam listed on the product itself?
Answer: AFM Safecoat Almighty Adhesive adheres to both concrete and EPS foam with no problems. Just make sure the concrete wall surface is clean from any existing dirt.

Answer: AFM Safecoat Almighty Adhesive has not been tested on animals. Although this is a non-toxic low VOC product, you should still test a small amount first to make sure. Like humans, animals have different tolerance levels to chemicals and there is no way to know without testing. We've had other customers tell us our products work well in reptile dwellings, but this is no guarantee it will work for your reptiles.

Answer: Caulk will not adhere properly to a wet surface, so be sure your work area is completely dry before you get started. While the Chemlink Clear will skin over in approx 20-30 minutes we strongly recommend you let the entire cure process play out over 24 hours before using your shower to ensure that the caulk is thoroughly dried. Cutting corners here may result in product failure.

Question: I have 110 sf wall to laminate...how many tubes do I need?
Answer: Each tube covers 25 linear feet when the bead is 1/4 inch thick. Estimate how much glue you want to apply per square foot of your laminate wall covering. Then multiply x the square footage. For example if you use 4 lineal feet per square foot, multiply 4'x110 SF = 440 LF. Then divide by 25 to get the number of tubes: 440/25 =18 tubes.

Answer: Almighty adhesive has incredible binding power which will hold almost any structure to the straw board. However, if your straw board is not sealed from the outside, and moisture seeps in, the straw board could become weakened or disintegrate which would affect the performance of any adhesive.

Question: can this be used to join engineered hardwood floors at the seams?
Answer: The best adhesive to bond engineered hardwood floors together would be Kahrs Landobond Adhesive. It was created long ago for tongue and groove installation and has a very high elasticity rating and bond strength. Most engineered hardwood floors that click together, however, do not require adhesives at the seams. Do not use the Chemlink Clear for this purpose.

Question: Can this be used when installing cabinetry as a wood glue?
Answer: Kars Landobond adhesive was specifically designed to attach their floating tongue and groove flooring because it allows for slight expansion and contraction without cracking the wood. You are better off using Titebond II or III for cabinetry as it is non-toxic and available at any hardware store.

Question: Can I use Almighty Adhesive to adhere tiles to a backsplash in my kitchen?
Answer: Yes, you can use the Almighty to adhere tiles to your back splash. It is difficult to spread over the entire surface of the tile. However, a much better alternative is our AFM 3-in-1 Adhesive which is not as thick and trowels very easily over the entire back of the tile. This will work for most small light weight tiles up to 12x12. If your tile is larger than 12x12, then Almighty would be better.

Answer: AFM SafeCoat Almighty Adhesive is certainly good for someone with MCS but formica installation usually requires contact cement which is not something that we carry.

Answer: The Rubio MonoCoat Wood Filler Putty is a non-toxic VOC-free wood filler designed to fill in knots and nail holes in wood. It works very well and is easy to apply.

Question: Can AFM Safecoat Almighty Adhesive be used to install quartz countertops? If not, what adhesive for this purpose would you recommend that is non-toxic and zero VOC?
Answer: Hello Michelle, Thank You for your question. The AFM SafeCoat Almighty Adhesive is a serious construction adhesive. If applied, you will never get your countertop off without destroying your cabinets. It is way overkill. However, if your contractors insist on it, ask them to use just a few dabs in the corners and every few feet.Our fabricators recommend using some clear caulking under the lip of the countertop right up against the face frame of the cabinet. Our Chemlink CLEAR will work perfectly for this purpose.Quartz countertops are so heavy and they are up against the wall so, actually very little is needed to hold them in place.

Question: Would this product replace urethane for use in securing windows to a vehicle? My understanding is that urethane is flexible when cured, so it is good for impact and vibration resistance. Would this product be similar? Thanks!
Answer: While AFM Almighty Adhesive will bond to glass and metal very well, this is not the best application for this product. It is not flexible. A much better choice would be either our Chemlink DuraSil or CLEAR sealants. Durasil comes in a translucent color and is very flexible. The Clear is a perfectly clear sealant and is also capable of joint movement up to 25%.

Question: Goes it adhere to metal?
Answer: As an all purpose sealant, AFM Caulking Compound product will bond to most metals as long as the surface is properly prepared. Remove all rust, scale and residue by wire brushing to a bright metal sheen. Remove films, loose or inappropriate coatings and oils with an appropriate solvent such as alcohol. AFM recommends that coated substrates be tested for adhesion prior to starting a project.

Answer: Yes, AFM Almighty Adhesive is a very low VOC non-toxic adhesive that adheres to almost anything. Just beware that it will not be easy to undo when it comes time to dismantle your project because this product is extremely strong and long lasting.

Answer: AFM Almighty adhesive will bridge gaps from 1/16 to 1/4". Optimum glue line thickness is 15 mils. This is designed to bond two or more materials together and not fill large voids as a caulk or sealant would do.

Question: Can this adhesive be used with store-bought LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile) faux wood planks? I've already bought the planks, but I'd like to limit the indoor air toxicity in my home by using a non-toxic adhesive for it. Will this product be okay to use for LVT? Thanks.
Answer: The best product for any type of vinyl or luxury vinyl is our DriTac 5500 which is a zero VOC pressure sensitive adhesive. We cannot recommend the Forbo Sustain 1195 as it is designed for Marmoleum only. It may work, but it may not and the manufacturer of your vinyl flooring will only warrant a product designed for that type of flooring.

Question: Can I use this on glass bottles to attach beads?
Answer: Yes Almighty adhesive will certainly work, however, the color may not be too attractive. You may prefer to use our Chemlink CLEAR which will bond well to glass and is clear when dry.

Question: I bought clear ChemLink general purpose sealant for my bathroom to caulk between the wall and the bathtub, but I am wondering if it is really translucent because I don't want to see the crack between tile wall and bathtub. is there a version of this that is white? I want something that will last, not mold/mildew, and not smell (be as least toxic as possible).
Answer: Chemlink Clear really will be clear when applied. For sealing in a bathroom, we recommend Chemlink's DuraSil in white. This product was designed for commercial and industrial roofing in northern climates, so it should hold up fine in your bathtub area. There is very little smell when wet and virtually none when fully cured. It's a non-toxic sealant, containing no formaldehyde or solvents. Regarding mold and mildew--there are no chemicals added to make Durasil anti-mold, because such chemicals are toxic. Most of our customers don't want pesticides leaching into their bath water.

Question: Does the SafeCoat 3-in-1 Adhesive work for marble countertops? I want to adhere them to cement board substrate.
Answer: We generally don't recommend glueing down slab countertops, as they will be very difficult to remove in the future without destroying the top or the cabinets beneath them. For granite, marble, quartz or any solid surface, we only apply a small bead of clear caulking (our ChemLink Durasil) underneath the counter where it meets the cabinet frame. This holds it in place and allows for easy removal of the top in the future. Slabs are very heavy and hard to move anyway and if there is a sink, they are secured in place by the sink, too. Marble is translucent and anything that is not white or clear underneath it will affect the surface, visually.

Question: Is this good for caulking around the bathtub?
Answer: This is a general purpose interior/exterior caulking compound that can be used in all areas of the house including the bathroom. It will work fine as long as the surface is clean, dry and free of oil, wax or other contaminants. All of our caulking products do not contain solvents or antimicrobials and have very low odor when wet and none when dry. Be sure to use either rubbing alcohol or a few drops of dish soap to smooth out the caulk. Do not use water or mineral spirits.

Question: Would this be suitable for gluing engineered wood floor boards together for a floating installation?
Answer: The Almighty Adhesive could be used in gluing down the floor, if for example you were putting in on stairs. However, for a floating installation we'd recommend the Kahrs Landobond Adhesive. Kahrs Landobond Adhesive is a specially formulated non-toxic adhesive designed especially for the expansion and contraction of floating floors. It is exceptionally strong, yet more flexible than most wood glues.

Question: We're working on a bathroom and would like to buy some mastic to glue tiles to the floor and walls, as well as a sealant for natural stone that will be installed on the floor. Which products do you recommend for mastic and a sealant?
Answer: If you have a level substrate - backer board or plywood - the AFM Safecoat 3-in-1 adhesive is a fine mastic to use. The tiles cannot be more than 12-inch x 12-inch. On a vertical surface, it's probably better to keep the tile size to 8x8 or less.This product would not be a good choice for use in the shower, due to moisture. We'd suggest using a regular thinset.Regarding a sealer for your natural stone tile, we recommend our AFM Safecoat WaterStop for a penetrating sealer or AFM Mexeseal for a topical clear coating.

Answer: Yes, AFM 3-in-1 adhesive was made for carpet as it bonds well and is non-toxic. It also works for all types of cushion, including wool. Few people use it for wool carpet or pad, however, as tack strips around the perimeter of the room are the standard installation method.
Bunching only happens with inexperienced installers or in very large rooms where heavy furniture is dragged across the floor. If carpet bunches, it can be re-stretched. This adhesive is non-toxic with very low odor when new and virtually no odor when dry within 24-48 hours, depending upon temperature and humidity.
