Question: Can you Install over ceramic tile?
Answer: Yes, as long as the surface is smooth, level, clean and dry. Forbo recommend using a vapor barrier (6ml poly aka Moisture Block) underneath the Cinch Loc Seal.
-
Question: Where can I see the tile installed? I want to see how the seams look.
Answer: There are no images of the Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc Seal in the agage color. Our samples have been cut into 6" x 6" squares and one of them may have the click mechanism cut off. Therefore, your best bet would be to call in your order of two samples and request that they click together. Generally speaking the Cinch Loc click system produces a very tight seam. HOwever, with Agate, there is a lot of variation of color that would make the seam difficult to see unless you look really close.
-
Question: In Agate, I think I'm seeing some green, is there any blue?
Answer: The best way to know is to order a small sample of it online. That will help immensely to get a better feel for the color in person. I can tell you I've seen it installed and it's marvelous.

Question: Will click lock show imperfections (roughness/seams) of subfloor?
Answer: If the flooring is installed correctly and the subfloor is flat, then the seams are barely discernible. Any bump or dip beyond what is acceptable by the manufacturer (1/8" deflection over 6' span) will also cause the seam to open ever so slightly. Also, lighter colors such as Edelweiss will show a tiny seam. Darker colors or styles with more variation in color do a better job of hiding the seam. If you want no seams, you might want to consider using the Marmoleum sheeting which comes 6' 6" wide and cut to any length. Other than that, all floating floors show some seams, but some mask them better due to the color scheme.

Question: We have an uneven floor. Will the underlay work to even things out. Can you use the click squares on top of uneven floors?
Answer: Sorry, your floors need to be as flat, smooth and level as possible. Our QuietWalk Underlayment will provide a little help but not that much. The amount of deflection up or down cannot be more than 1/8" over a 6' span. Best to use a patching compound for the dips and sand or grind down the bumps. Or use some birch subfloor plywood to cover everything and then apply the Marmoleum Click.

Question: I got some click flooring in the panel size, years ago. Unfortunately it had problems from the start. It was not waterproof... I have dogs, and spilled things.... I am thinking of redoing it. Maybe a mix of the old bluish/gray color mixed with a nice darker blue? Any ideas for how to slide the old panels out from under cabinets? If so, I could replace it all with a different color. Would this work, even? Do the old click and new click click together? I would love to have a nice kitchen floor, but can't imagine taking out all the cabinets to replace the flooring. And I have grown to hate it. Drop things on it, it puts a dent in it. Does the new click flooring dent so easily? For anyone who has it, and uses it every day, do you love it?
Answer: Forbo has upgraded their floating click Marmoleum with the addition of a very durable coating called TopShield Pro and a new waterproof core. TopShield blocks moisture intrusion and provides better wear performance, stain and scratch resistance, while continuing to be non-toxic with zero VOC off-gassing. Yes, we love it! So do our customers. Per our website: NOTE 4: Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc Seal is compatible with the most recent generations of Click Cinch Loc but is not compatible with older Marmoleum Click II. Seal WILL NOT click together with Click II.Generally floating floors are not installed underneath cabinets. We would be happy to discuss your options in more detail over the phone. Question: We installed marmoleum click in our laundry room in 2018. Has the product changed since then? Ours has not been waterproof because if there is any water near a seam the core material starts to swell.
Answer: Per the Cinch Loc page, "There have been two major changes for the Marmoleum Click Line in 2023. Our best-selling non-toxic flooring just became a lot better. Forbo has re-invented their Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc line of floating planks and squares with a new waterproof core and a new Topshield Pro long-lasting surface finish. " It became so in 2023. So yours would not have been waterproof.

Question: I see conflicting information about the subfloor requirements for Cinch-Loc. Some comments say max 3/16 over 8' span, others (including Forbo) say 3/32 over 6' span. Also, will the Quiet Walk Plus compensate for 1/16th variation or 3/32 (or, what is considered "little subfloor imperfections")? Thanks.
Answer: We always suggest and follow what Forbo says in their installation guide : https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/cdn/shop/files/doc-IG_Installing-Marmoleum-
Cinch-LOC-Seal_v1.13-USE-2024GreenBuildingSupply.pdf?v=9781004195053798756 "Marmoleum Cinch LOC Seal can be installed on any clean, dry, structurally sound subfloor. According to the QuietWalk Plus installation : https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/cdn/shop/files/doc-MP-Global-QuietWalkPLUS_
Installation-_USE_2024_GreenBuildingSupply.pdf?v=3492844962335458378" . If the flooring manfuacturer does not specify requirements for flatness, your subfloor must be flat within 1/8" over 6' span, or 3/16" over a 10' span. All leveling, prep work, priming, etc must be done prior to installation of underlayment."
