I tried the surface test but the wipe immediately turned yellow when water was added before object was swiped. What does that mean?

The directions do say "Orange coloring of the test pad is normal when reacting to water. Do not be alarmed." The only colors you should be concerned about are pinks, reds, and purples, which can mean dangerous levels of lead.
