Can I use this on metal? Bare steel and painted steel?

You can use it on either painted or unpainted steel. However, ChemLink, M-1 is always better and recommended for stainless steel. Sometimes the weight/application for steel requires a stronger adhesive such as M1, if your using it as an adhesive.
