We’ve provided several answers to questions related to Waterproof Click - Floating , see some other helpful Q&A related to this product.
Question: Is this product made in China?
Answer: Per the Specs section at the bottom of the product page, "Country of Manufacture-- Germany ".
Question: Would this be a good flooring choice for a mudroom? Does it get slippery when wet?
Answer: Forbo Marmoleum is used in many commercial setting such as schools and hospitals as well as millions of residences. Wet floors are usually slippery. Use a walk off matt if needed. Otherwise, it's fine for a mudroom.
Question: Can you put marmoleum under stove or refrigerator?
Answer: Cinch Loc tiles can go under appliances, it would just be cabinets that they would recommend going up to but not underneath.
Question: Is the Marmoleum click flooring easily removable and reusable? Can individual tiles be replaced in the event of damage? Thank you
Answer: Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc Seal can be removed. You'd need to remove all the tiles from the wall edge over to the damaged tile. But it is doable as it's all a click mechanism and not glued. It just takes time and effort to do so.
Question: Is it easier to use all the same type of click lock seal such as all squares or panels. If you use both, how to you figure out many you need of each color?
Answer: The squares and panels will indeed click together and are able to be used all in the same floor. However, you'd need to use 3 squares to 1 panel to occupy "equal space". Your installer should be able to help you figure out how much of each. Forbo also has an online planner that has a few patterns in it you can play with. https://floorvisualizer-consumer.forb...
Question: Concerning the Marmium product, does the material expand and contract.?I'm interested in the thickness and material of baseboards that would go with this floor.
Answer: The Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc Seal is 3/8" thick. There is some slight expansion and contraction which is why the manufacturer requires some space be allowed around the perimeter wherever it meets a wall or pillar or floor register.
Question: Do you still carry Mellow Yellow in sheet goods?
Answer: Sorry, that product has been discontinued. However, there are two other yellows that are very similar, i.e. Natural Corn and Lemon Zest.
Question: What's the thickness of Forbo Click?
Answer: Per the Specs section at the bottom of the product page, "Thickness or Height (9.8mm) 0.39" "
Question: I only need 7sq ft of the 12x12 tiles. I want a check pattern so ideally I would only need two boxes, each a different color. Is this possible? (Even if I have to get 3 box minimum order, can I get two of one color and 1 of another?)
Answer: You can buy as few boxes as you choose, just know you need to purchase full boxes. So one box is the minimum.
Question: Is there a way to visualize it in my room on your website?
Answer: When you scroll down the page, it states, "Click here for an online floor planner. You can use this to check out all the colors and play around with design ideas before you buy! "
Question: I like the wood look of the Forbo Eternal Wood vinyl sheet, but I can't find information on how it's made or what it's made of. Not non-toxic??
Answer: We do not sell that product and don't know any information on it. You will need to reach out to Forbo directly.
Question: Are the underlayment options either the black Moisture Block OR Quietwalk plus? Do we need both for a Marmoleum Click? We're putting it over tile.
Answer: You do not need to use both. Most often people use the Quietwalk Plus when over tile as it gives a little "forgiveness" that the Moisture Block doesn't .
Question: Can you use the marmoleum click with Heated floors? Is there a suggested type of heated flooring?
Answer:
You can use the click flooring with hydronic radiant heat; see the manufacturer's instructions for details
Manufacturer's instructions: https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/c...
Question: Looking for colors in click that would be achieve a checkered look. I think Black Seal but not sure what for the off white or white? Older Q&A stated they used Barbados but I don't see that one in the color samples. Please advise.
Answer: Yes, Barbados does still exist. It's basically a light ivory. Marmoleum can't be fully white as it has linseed oil in its composition and that can't be whitened. Order a small sample (or rent our sample box kit) to see the colors in person.
Question: Can I use click flooring in a motorhome? I am looking for nontoxic, waterproof flooring for my motorhome. Approx 100 sq ft. What brand/type, installation is recommended?
Answer: While some of our customer use any of our floating click style floors, we generally don't recommend them for two main reasons: 1) Because they are not tied to the floor, driving over bumps at 70mph causes the floor to jump up and over time may even pop off, 2) for warranty purposes, manufacturers require that the room be temp and humidity controlled which is not the case when there is no heat or AC running. For these main reasons, the only product we recommend is our Marmoleum sheet or tile (Modular or MCT) which are both glued down. They both require installation during 75 degrees temp and 50% (+- 10%) ambient relative humidity. For more information: https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/c...
Question: Does the floor need to be level to use marmoleum? Thinking of putting in basement
Answer: No problem using this waterproof product in a basement. The subfloor needs to be as flat as possible. Flatter the better. There is a tolerance for dips and bumps of 3/16 over a 6' span. More than that should be filled or leveled with a patching compound such as Ardex brand. Please read these two documents carefully.https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/c...https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/c...
Question: Do you have light purple?
Answer: Forbo does not currently make it in a light purple. Only in the colors shown on the product page.
Question: I am in Canada. I know you don't ship marmoleum here. Could I get a sample box though? And I am very sensitive to any smell so dismissed this product in my current Reno. In a few years I will need to replace some more floors. So linseed oil and cork are smells I react to - does the smell really go away and after how long? And you really don't need to do anything to maintain it? Or how do you maintain it. Thanks for what you do.
Answer: You could order a sample box but the cost of shipping it to Canada would be around $50 so it would be very expensive. Forbo does have dealers in Canada. I'm not sure what they do for samples but it would be more cost effective to go to one of the Canadian dealers of the Forbo product. The smell will dissipate over time the more air circulation that you have will help the process along. Maintenance on the floor is very easy you would use a neutral pH cleaner and a damp mop.
Question: Location in Denver?
Answer: We do not know other locations around the country that sell specific products. But you may certainly order from us online and have it shipped to you.
Question: I am installing this in a bathroom. Is there a recommended seal or wax product to put on it to better protect from water?
Answer: Please read this: https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/c...It explains all about TopShield Pro which is an improved sealer used on all Marmoleum products. Forbo does not recommend using any sealers or waxes on their product except after 5-10 years of excessive wear and tear. Then they offer their own Forbo Floor Finish which will restore the surface.
Question: Do you ship in Canada? Or do you have a parent company in Canada? Thank you!
Answer: Yes, we ship to Canada. However, you can't order directly on the website. You must call us at 641-323-6108 to place an order or order samples.Thank you
Question: Will the light colors (nearly white) be back in stock? They are ALL marked out at this time. ???
Answer: Based on 4-1-24 inventory there is good stock of Barbados and Edelweiss 12x12 and 12x36. Please call us on Monday 800-405-0222 and we can double check quantity and color.
Question: I understand the need to keep a 3/8" gap at the perimeter of a floating floor. But what happens if your product is installed in a bathroom where there will be a toilet? Toilets typically install over the flooring with caulk in the joint in between. won't this restrict the movement of the floor and possibly cause problems?
Answer: Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc Seal requires 3/8" in normal size room but only 1/4" in small bathroom. Caulk is flexible and the weight of the toilet is not enough to cause issues either. Not to worry.
Question: Is Marmoleum "Click" tile compatible with Marmoleum "Cinch LOC Seal" tile? If so, where can I find instructions on how to connect the Click tiles with Cinch LOC tiles?
Answer: The locking mechanism change around 2016, from the Click II to Click Cinch Loc. The Click Cinch Loc locking mechanism will be compatible with the Cinch Loc Seal. The easy way to tell whether your current tiles will be Marmoleum Cinch Loc or Marmoleum Click II will be by looking in the grooves of the tiles. For Cinch Loc tiles, you will see a thin black gasket in the groove on one side of each tile.
Question: how much extra tile should you order?
Answer: Contractors/installers usually say 10-15% overage when customers ask them. It depends upon the complexity of the layout and the room shape (aka if it has weird edges or corners or things to go around).
Question: What is HDF? Is it the core that makes it waterproof? Are any chemicals used for waterproofing? What is the top coat made of? Are there any phthalates in the flooring, including the top coat?
Answer: HDF will be High Density Fiberboard. All of the Marmoleum products, including the Topshield, are phthalate free. The Topshield is classified as a non toxic acrylic.
Question: We installed edelweiss in a windowless bathroom, and it is not losing the amber cast. Will it ever fade?
Answer: It will. It just takes longer under artificial light. We've had people say light colors, especially, took several weeks in their artificial light to adjust. But it will still happen.
Question: Does the floor have to be even for this?
Answer: Per the Installation Instructions on page 2 https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/c... , "Marmoleum Cinch LOC Seal can be installed on any clean, dry, structurally sound subfloor. The subfloor must be flat to within 3/32" in 6' (2.0mm in 2 meters). "
Question: What is the best cleaning product to use on marmoleum?
Answer: Here is their floor care/cleaning brochure: https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/c...
Question: My husband and I really appreciated advice from your experts. New project: our 1970s yellowish laminate countertops. On a very limited budget raising a large family. With each upgrade we want to pursue safer choices. We've read about concrete countertops on the EWG site as being safe with no off-gassing. Also read about concrete overlays of existing laminate countertops. We would really appreciate advice on how to affordably and safely upgrade approx 55sq feet of laminate countertop. Are concrete overlays safe? What overlay product is safest? What concrete sealer for food surfaces? Curious if linoleum countertops over the laminate would be a safe affordable choice. If so what product is safest and most affordable? Thank you, Emily Herron
Answer: Hello Emily. There is a lot going on here. It would behoove you to call 641-323-6111 between 9-5 central. You'll be in so much better shape after a phone call!
Question: Are the colors and patterns different for the sheet marmoleum? Is there a sample box for the other marmoleum products?
Answer: Here are the colors for the sheet goods. https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/A... . There are some that are the same as the Cinch Loc. There is not a sample box for any Marmoleum other than the Cinch Loc, but Marmoleum samples are only $1 each and ship for free.
Question: Do the click seal sample boxes have samples you can put together to see how the "click seal" looks + how many samples are included and how/where do I choose?
Answer: There are two pieces that can be clicked together in each box. The rest of the 42 samples are just the Marmoleum sheeting to show color.
Question: Can the new Click tiles be used in very small bathroom with curbless shower?
Answer: Forbo does not recommend the Cinch Loc up to a curbless shower as there is no "stopping barrier" to protect the floor.
Question: We are looking for sage green shade color click seal marmoleum tiles with no muted design in them, just plain sage color thru and thru.. Do you have any plans to make such s product?
Answer: As of right now, they only have the colors you see online. When Forbo makes/offers new colors, we will certainly add those online.
Question: I would like to buy the marmoleum cinch lock now, for use in a couple months. can it be stored in an unheated space, or will damage be done?
Answer: Per the installation instructions https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/c..., "The ambient room temperature should be at least 68 degrees F (20 degrees C) and the ambient relative humidity between 50% - 60%. To maintain the long-term value of Marmoleum Cinch LOC Seal, we recommend the use of a humidifier to avoid extreme drying out during the heating season. " That's referring to installation but also to storage. It has to be in a climate controlled space.
Question: How about cutting this to fit in special areas?
Answer: Follow the installation instructions for anything that needs to be done: https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/c... .
Question: Will professionally applied pesticides harm Marmoleum?
Answer: Forbo has not tested their Marmoleum with these but, because of being natural, they feel it's best to not get pesticides on it.
Question: Is Painter's Palette available as sheet Marmoleum?
Answer: The color painter's palette are only available as Cinch Loc.
Question: Does 3030 blue come as Click lock?
Answer: Yes. When you click on the Blue square, the model # at the top of the screen ends in 3030. So that will tell you the color number of the flooring. We can confirm that the "Blue" in Click Cinch Loc Seal is the same color as the Blue 3030 in sheet goods and glue down tile.
Question: Asking if others note a slight warm tone to Silver Birch color -- looking for something midway between a warm light brown and a cooler gray. Have been looking at gray for 20 years, ready for a change but don't really want to go too dark. Also is Silver Birch available now that it's after Mid July?
Answer: It's all a matter of each person's perspective. Your best bet is to order small samples to see in person.
Question: Is the new Sandy Chalk color the same as the discontinued White Cliffs?
Answer: Sandy Chalk is similar to White Cliffs but not exactly the same. The best way to know is to order a small sample to see in person.
Question: Is there any chance the company will make more decorative patterns than just basically solid colors that can be mixed?
Answer: We never know until Forbo notifies us of new product offerings. Once there are new ones, we will put those on the website.
Question: Can Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc resist pet urine?
Answer: Nothing holds up well to pet urine aside of concrete or porcelain, and even then, the ammonia in urine will eventually discolor nearly anything. Your best course is to clean up any pet accidents as they happen.
Question: Is the click floating tiles best for travel trailers?
Answer: No. The click tile is too rigid and bulky for trailers or RVs. For that application, we would recommend the glue-down sheet or glue-down tile. Please be sure you read and understand the installation guidelines with regard to temperature and humidity during installation as you have a range you need to work within which can be challenging if your trailer is not garaged/in a climate-controlled environment during installation.glue-down sheet: https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/A...glue-down tile: https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/A...
Question: I have had a marmoleum floor for 30 years. It's been wonderful. Time to replace. Is it possible to buy this product on a roll?
Answer: Marmoleum comes in many colors that are glue down sheet goods, yes. https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/A...Also available as glue down tile, and the click floating waterproof flooring.
Question: Should I install Marmoleum Click flooring under the kitchen cabinets or around the cabinets?
Answer:

"If there are any fixed objects in the room, such as cabinets, pipes, etc., it is important to leave a minimum of 3/8" spacer where the flooring meets these objects."
Question: What is the weight of a box?
Answer:
This comes in two sizes.
Weight / Box
12 x 36 inch Panels - 40 Pounds per box
12 x 12 inch Square - 14 Pounds per box
Question: What is the delivery time for click lock in Los Angeles?
Answer: Delivery time is mostly based on which specific color and size you choose (some colors/sizes are currently on backorder, these are listed on the product page). If an item is in stock, the general delivery time is roughly a week and a half to two weeks.
Question: Making a flooring from volcanic ash sounds environmentally friendly, but what is the binder that holds the ash together?
Answer: This floor is not made from volcanic ash (Volcanic Ash is one of the floor colors). It's made from Linseed Oil, Pine Rosins, Wood Flour, Pigments, Jute Fiber, and Cork. The binder is a mixture of linseed oil and pine rosins.
Question: Do you sell samples of flooring?
Answer: Yes we do. You will find the Add a Sample To Cart button on the page right under the green Add To Cart button which is for ordering the actual flooring.
Question: Am concerned about water sitting on Marmoleum Click LOC Planks in small bathroom. Want extra waterproofing. Which moisture barrier should we get? Sub-floor is newly installed above grade plywood over diagonal redwood planks.
Answer: You may use MP Global, QuietWalk Plus - without Antimicrobials or MP Global, Moisture Block.
Question: Copy says the new locking mechanism is backwards compatible. Does this mean the tiles with the new mechanism can lock onto the old style? I need to replace some tiles that were purchased in 2008 with new ones. I don't want to replace the tiles over the entire floor.
Answer: The Click Marmoleum tiles from 2017 to the present will click together (Cinch Loc and Cinch Loc Seal). Anything before that (Classic Click or Click II - which is where 2008 was) will not click to these new ones. So no, 2008 tiles are not compatible with the current generation.
Question: Is this flooring compatible with the cinch lock water resistant flooring?
Answer: Yes it is. The Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc Seal (Waterproof) looks exactly like the previous generation Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc (water resistant) and the clicking mechanisms between the two generations will click together. The substantial difference here is the Waterproof version is waterproof, and the waterproof topcoat finish is more resistant to abrasion than the previous generation.
Question: What works well in a bedroom with the weight of dressers and bed? I was thinking plank but not sure
Answer: Per Forbo, furniture being placed on top of the Click tiles should not be an issue. One thing to watch out for is the feet/pressure points of the item. If they are small/narrow, you'll want to use glides to help distribute the weight of the item more evenly. This will also help if you do plan on moving things around in the future. You would also want to keep the feet from standing right on a seam.
Question: Do you not carry forbo click tile in the square?
Answer: Under dropdown # 1 "First Select Size" on the product page, you have to click it and select Square 12" x 12". Then the color options will show which ones are available as squares. There are a few colors and styles that are only available as panels, such as the Striato line (these feature a striped pattern, colors include Oxidized Copper, Welsh Moor, Trace of Nature, and others). Most of the marbleized colors are available as Click Square.
Question: What transition piece to use between marmoleum sheet in the kitchen and marmoleum Click in the adjacent dining room? Can the transition color be matched to the flooring?
Answer: You can get complimentary transition molding color to the flooring. You go to the website for Versatrim - which is: https://versatrim.com - then select: Online Ordering. Scroll down and select the box for: Forbo. Select the color you want, click it open. Select the transition molding which is appropriate - you will need a Reducer to transition between the two levels. When you click on the reducer photo, it will bring up details. You can easily place your order online.
Question: Would this flooring be waterproof enough for a laundry room?
Answer: The Forbo Click Cinch Loc is not waterproof at all (for waterproof flooring, check out our waterproof cork product. We would term this floor "water resistant" - which means it can be used in spaces that have the occasional spill, provided you clean that up before it can get into the floor. We posted a recent article on the difference. (link below)https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/W...
Question: Can you roomba this? Will it scratch?
Answer: As long as there aren't any sharp objects that get stuck in the wheels, there shouldn't be any issues with the Roomba.
Question: It says the of the composition of the planks has an HDF core. Does this mean "High density formaldehyde" core? formaldehyde is highly toxic, yet this type of floor is advertised as not having toxic materials. Can you explain?
Answer: HDF means high-density fiberboard, it's not talking about formaldehyde.
Question: I Want to install marmoleum flooring in a new building with a root cellar basement. The floor will be insulated from the basement. That building will not be heated all the time. Which flooring type would be best for that situation?
Answer: You will need to use the Forbo glue down flooring instead and not the Cinch Loc flooring. When applying a glue down product (Forbo sheet goods or MCT/Modular glue down tiles) in an interior, non temperature controlled area, the areas to receive material should be clean, fully enclosed and weather tight. The permanent HVAC should be fully operational and controlled and set at a minimum temperature 65 degrees F (18.3 degrees C). If this is not possible, the areas should be acclimated and controlled by means of temporary HVAC to the service level conditions expected during occupancy. The temperature and humidity should range from 75 degrees F ? 10 degrees F (23.9 degrees C ? 5.5 degrees C) with a 50% ? 10% ambient relative humidity. These conditions must be established at least seven days prior to beginning the installation, maintained during the installation, and continued for at least seven days following the installation. Then follow the product installation instructions.
Question: Can this floor be mopped with water?
Answer: Yes. If you'd like the floor to remain under warranty you should follow the manufacturers cleaning instructions. Floor Care Guidelines are located on the downloads section of the product detail page, to the right of the product write up (direct link included below for your convenience). Most important is you clean with a neutral pH cleaner and DO NOT flood the floor with liquid. Deviating from this may compromise the finish and the floor.https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/c...
Question: For installation in a bathroom, what would be the appropriate waterproofing material underneath?
Answer: This is not a waterproof floor. Here is the substrate evaluation for what needs to be under the floor: https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/c...And here are the installation instructions to follow: https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/c...
Question: I am in need of an inexpensive vinyl flooring in a roll. Do you have anything that would meet these requirements?
Answer: We do not sell anything vinyl. The closest we carry is Marmoleum Glue-Down sheet goods, which is the ecologically friendly, non-toxic, and healthier alternative to Vinyl. You can check out those products here: https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/A...
Question: What kind of rug pad can be used on Marmoleum?
Answer: Forbo states, "As a general recommendation we would say that any rugs or mats just need to have a soft, non-staining backing. This information is normally printed on the label of the rug. "
Question: My contractor is saying our planks can't go in herringbone pattern because of the click set up. We saw herringbone on the website. Are there instructions anywhere how to install planks in a herringbone style?
Answer: Did you mean a Chevron pattern? That can be accomplished with the 12x12 Square Click Cinch Loc tiles ... see this download (directly below) for how that would look.https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/c...Beyond that, you can only do an actual Herringbone Pattern via Planks with Marmoleum Modular Glue Down tile planks (which have no clicking mechanism that will get in the way of your design). You can get crazy with patterns here, basketweave, pinwheel, and other designs. https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/A...
Question: My studio has concrete floors, which flooded for the first time this winter. How will the tiles respond to flooding should it reoccur?
Answer: At this time we only have one click floor that can handle/bounce back from that degree of wetness, and that is our waterproof cork flooring. The Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc has a fiberboard wood core, which will swell and warp should it be submerged.
Question: If you are to go around appliances how would the Bottom draw of my stove open? Would t this new floor block it?
Answer: This flooring is 0.39" thick.
Question: Since I can't find a company that makes true linoleum rugs, I was thinking I could use click loc tiles (area is about 65 sq ft). This would sit on top of textured bamboo flooring, anchored by a large couch. Is there reducer I can buy for the edges for a project like this?
Answer: We get variations of this question a lot. We carry nothing that would allow for any kind of free-floating area-rug like install on any of our Marmoleum products, including the click. This is only meant to be installed in (and warranted for) an enclosed/bordered subfloor area.
Question: Will furniture legs dimple this product?
Answer: That all depends on the weight of the furniture and the style of the feet. Dimples or other damage can be produced on any type of floor if the feet are sharp or anything other than even/flat/wide surfaces of equal weight distribution. We recommend furniture pads, available via any big box store to work against dimpling.
Question: I own a coin laundry with terrazzo floors. There's a small seating area where I'm looking for a product to create a 5'x8' water & slip resistant "area rug." Would Marmoleum Click work? It can't be a tripping hazard and I'm concerned about the edges if the Marmoleum is only used in a small area.
Answer: You can't use Marmoleum as an area rug. It needs to be installed over a subfloor with clear borders (walls and/or transition molding). The click mechanisms are not strong enough to hold together and just float over an area like an area rug. It sounds like what you need is some kind of rubber or vinyl matt, which we do not sell.
Question: Can you use regular floor wax on Marmoleum?
Answer: No. It has a Forbo finish called Topshield 2 on it which lasts for many years. No need to put any other finish on it and wax will not stick to the Topshield surface.
Question: would this flooring work installed in a van environment?
Answer: It is best to use glue down sheet goods in a van/RV/trailer or anything that moves. https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/A... Forbo states that areas to receive material should be clean, fully enclosed and weather tight.
Question: Can this be installed in bathrooms?
Answer: It depends on how wet your bathroom gets. If you are good about cleaning up water spills as they happen, Click Cinch Loc would do just fine in a dry bathroom. For a wet bathroom (dog baths, children, spouses who are big on multiple showers daily, etc.) we would recommend our waterproof cork product [ https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/A... ] or the glue down marmoleum sheet flooring [ https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/A... ] as a better fit for your lifestyle.
Question: I am placing this below a bathroom cabinet that is 60 inches and is free standing. I can't go around the legs because they are furniture like. Is this going to work?
Answer: Generally Forbo does not recommend installing their Marmoleum Click Cinch loc directly underneath kitchen cabinetry, however there are exceptions. Normal cabinetry is very heavy and is full of dishes or food. This weight may disallow the normal expansion and contraction of the floor and may eventually cause buckling especially if there is excessive moisture present. Bathroom vanities, however, are usually narrower, shorter and lighter. In addition, bathroom floors are usually much narrower than kitchens meaning that the amount of expansion and contraction required will be much less. As long as you leave adequate expansion space, seal the area under the outside edges along the perimeter from water, in our opinion, it should be ok.
Question: Can Marmoleum Click Loc Tile be installed on top of in-floor heating?
Answer: It depends on what type of in-floor heating you are asking about. Per the Specs section at the bottom of the page, it states, "Radiant Heat---Okay for use with hydronic radiant heat ONLY".
Question: I'd want tongue -n- groove pay by box. Does this product just come in tile form? And the square footage in 1 box? I love the colors I want my bedroom floor blue.
Answer: Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc is a snap together DIY product that comes in two sizes: 12x36 (20.34SF/box) and 12x12 (6.78 SF/box). There are several shades of blue that you can check out here. https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/s...Free shipping on orders > 250 SF. Question: I bought individual samples, what size are those?
Answer: Individual Forbo Marmoleum Click Samples (including the two in this box) are approximately 6 inches square. The fan deck chips measure 6" x 3" each.
Question: Hello, I am looking for 12x12 tiles. All of them I see have a marbled look but I would rather flat colors. Does that exist?Thank you,Zephyr
Answer: Correct. All the Forbo Marmoleum tiles we carry either have a marbled look or a striated look, though some floors this is more subtle than others. We carry tiles in the Floating Floor Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc line, and within the Glue Down Marmoleum Modular Tile line.
Question: Will the Striato line eventually be available in click lock?
Answer:
There are a few colors that mimic the Striato linear look in the Marmoleum Click Line; these are only available in the 24x36 panel size, all located at the lower part of the color selector
Question: Is it waterproof?
Answer: UPDATE: 01/05/2023 - Yes, the new version of this floor, launched by Forbo December 1, 2022 IS NOW WATERPROOF.For historical context, the previous generation of this floor we categorized as water resistant. The waterproof floor looks exactly the same as the non-waterproof version, and is backwards compatible with regards to the clicking mechanism. For more information regarding water resistant vs. waterproof flooring, check out this article:https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/L...
Question: How do you clean this flooring?
Answer: Forbo recommends sweeping daily and damp mopping weekly. You can use their Forbo Neutral pH Cleaner which is a concentrate or you can use any of the other wood floor cleaners listed on our website. They do not recommend waxes, Murphys oil soap or anything with strong acids or alkalines. Here is a link to Forbo's Residential Floor Care Guide also posted on our website: https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/c...
Question: Do you need glue, subfloor for click product or can you apply over existing?
Answer: You can float Click Cinch Loc over an existing floor (no nails or glue needed) provided the floor you put it over is flat, level, and structurally stable.

Question: Hi! I was wanting a checkered floor like you see often in older linoleum kitchen floors. My hope was to do a dark blue or navy tile alternated with a white or very light cream tile. I do not see any choice for white. Does this Marmoleum come in white? What is another option you think would be a great choice for the checkers?? Blue is my favorite color!!
Answer: This being a natural floor, a pure white color is not available. For a checkered floor pattern like you are describing you could choose to run with your favorite color all-the-way with a light blue (such as "Blue Heaven") and a dark blue (such as "Blue") or you could go with a dark blue and a light neutral color like Concrete.Forbo does have an online floor planner if you would like to see a simulation of the colors in a checkered floor pattern (link below). Go to the link below, click on the "floor" button which will bring up a menu of options. Choose Collection "Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc" and "Tiles" from Planks/Sheets/Tiles. Once you select a color on the right side then possible Laying Patterns show up on the left, which includes the checkboard pattern.https://forbo-consumers.esignserver3....

Question: Can you buy in one long piece. Dog peeing in foyer. I am so upset. Anyway can this material be ok with urine.????
Answer: Urine is acidic and will eat through ANY floor finish and floor if left to puddle. Your best route is to immediately wipe up any puddles before they can damage your floor. We sell the marmoleum click cinch loc in boxes of panels (20 SF) or squares (7 SF), we cannot sell individual boards.
Question: Can a click floor be installed over an existing ceramic tile floor without removing tiles?
Answer: Yes. Marmoleum Click can be installed on any clean, dry, structurally sound subfloor (including ceramic tile). The subfloor must be flat to within 3/32" in 6' (2.0mm in 2 meters). If you've gaps that do not fall under these parameters, you can use a floor leveler (available via most any box store or hardware store) - follow directions and let your leveler thoroughly dry before installing Click Cinch Loc over top of it.
Question: I have a split slate tile floor in a large portion of my house. Can the click Forbo be installed over it? The surface has irregularities.
Answer: Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc can be applied over any stone or tiled floor as long as the surface is flat and smooth. Please refer to the manufacturers guidelines for more details.https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/c...

Answer: Yes, both hydronic and electric. Read installation guidelines carefully before installation.https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/c...
Question: We are considering installing the click marmoleum on top of a below grade cement basement floor. The floor occasionally floods with about a 1/2 inch of water. Can the tiles be pulled up? as in unclicked removed to dry the floor?
Answer: We have no flooring that I would confidently recommend for a surface that regularly/occasionally is under 1/2 inch of water. For more information you can refer to our article on What's the Difference Between Waterproof and Water-resistant flooring: https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/L...
Question: We plan to install something over a plywood floor in a shed/studio space. Will have a couple of heavy work tables that are meant to roll out of the way. Can Marmoleum click withstand the weight/movement? Weight of work table plus presses is maybe 100-150 lbs.
Answer: Yes, it can certainly handle that amount of weight which is typical of desks and furniture. The manufacturer always recommends using some spacers underneath the feet to help spread the load and prevent denting over time.
Question: We have a pier and beam older house that we want to replace the kitchen floor with Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc floor. As will all older homes with pier and beam construction the ground shifts. There is an intact wooden subfloor with leveling compound from a previous ceramic tile floor. Answer: Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc is a floating floor that is a floating floor that sits on top of the subfloor. Therefore, movement will have a similar effect on both planks and squares.

Question: Why are we not allowed to see painters palette in your room visualizer?
Answer: We are in the process of adding all of our flooring to the room visualizer. Unfortunately, it's a lot of moving parts and coordinating with all our flooring vendors to get the best image representation means we need to wait on certain titles, including painter's palette.
Question: Is this sticky ,for installing ?
Answer: If you are asking is this is a peel and stick floor, or otherwise requires glue to install, the answer is no. This is a floating click floor. No stickiness involved.
Question: Can you use planks and squares in laying down flooring?
Answer: Yes. In the sense that the squares will be able to lock onto the panels and vice versa. 3 squares lengthwise equals 1 panel.
Question: Would this work well in gym in my garage with cement floors ?
Answer: Cinch Loc will work on cement as long as you install the QuietWalk Plus underneath the Cinch Loc. However, if you do not keep that garage gym temperature controlled like it would be in a house, it could fail as the floors we sell are only meant to be used in living spaces that have climate control. They aren't meant for high heat or cold areas. Refer to the install instructions for parameters of climate, etc. https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/c...
Question: Would this product take abuse under the bar stools and behind bar (where employees serve ) for a bar???

Question: Can I use marmoleum for countertop?
Answer: Forbo Marmoleum comes in three types: sheet, tile or floating click (called Cinch loc). We only recommend using the sheeting for countertops as there will be no seams. There are almost 200 colors to choose from and the surface is naturally antimicrobial. It is not made for cutting but provides a durable, warm surface that is easy to clean and will make any kitchen sing. It is also the least expensive countertop and the most natural.
Question: Is this tile waterproof and ok for outside kitchens?
Answer: Yes, the current version of this floor (launched 12/01/22) is waterproof. The previous generation of this floor was water-resistant.We sell NO flooring, including the Click Cinch Loc, that is able to be installed outside/for exterior use.
Question: Hi there! We'd like to install the Click Cinch Loc over our 100-year-old wood kitchen floor. it's mostly flat with some gaps. Would an underlayment be enough to even out the surface and make this product work? Thanks!
Answer: Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc requires a flat, smooth, level, clean, and dry subfloor. The floor can tolerate a deflection of 3/16" over an 8' span. Using an underlayment such as QuietWalk Plus will certainly help, but will not magically solve all subfloor irregularities.

Question: Are Marmoleum stair treads available?
Answer: No, sorry, they are not. You can however use Marmoleum click Cinch Loc as a tread if you purchase or make a stair nosing. Call Versatrim at 866-200-8132 as they have stair nosing that are compatible in color.

Question: Floor is 12 x13 how much do I need
Answer: Assuming you want panels (12x36) you will need apx. 8 boxes. We cannot guarantee precise numbers without knowing the layout or how this will be installed. It's always best to consult with your installer to confirm this before ordering.
Question: delays in shipping due to COVID?

Answer: None of the flooring we sell is meant to be used in an exterior application.
Question: Can I install the click loc in a room that has forced hot water radiators (this is a 1980 split level) all along 3 sides of the room? I'm wondering how I will be able to hinge the click loc up to under the edge of the radiators?
Answer: Per the manufacturer, "in most cases the installer will cut out a notch in the Click tiles to go around the front portion of the heating pipe. A small piece would then be cut out for the back portion. This piece is commonly glued in place, as it is unable to be clicked to another tile. For the center portion of the heater, the tiles should be able to be slid into place. Making a template would be helpful, as well."
Question: Hello, I need a small piece of flooring- 24"x 36" ... is it possible to order this through you?
Answer: We do not sell partial boxes of flooring. 24" x 36" would be the equivalent of two panel pieces. We can however ship you a single box of Cinch Loc as a ground shipment (as opposed to freight) item, but you would need to place that special order over the phone - call us at 800-405-0222.
Question: Does this product need to be sealed, refinished? What are the maintenance requirements? Does it need sealing like cork?
Answer: Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc comes pre-sealed with TopShield 2 and requires no additional sealer when new. After 5-7 years of wear you may apply Forbo's Floor Finish which will add some sheen and rejuvenate the surface appearance. Routine maintenance is sweeping regularly and damp mopping every week or so. Neutral pH cleaners should be used. No strong acids or alkaline cleaners or oily cleaners. Forbo makes their own attached.
Question: Will this floor hold up outside in snow and rain?
Answer: No. This is an interior grade, engineered floor product.
Question: Does anything have to be put in between a cement floor and the marmoleum plank flooring ?
Answer: Yes, either 6ml polyethylene plastic vapor barrier such as our Moisture Block or Quiet Walk Plus which is an underlayment pad plus a vapor barrier all in one.
Question: I am interested in the Marmoleum planks. I will be installing it over a wood subfloor. My question concerns the density of the planks. In the room will be two steel production tables on casters that weigh about 500 lbs each. Do I need to be concerned about these planks dimpling under the weight of these tables? Also, will the planks stay flat and in place after repeated moving of the tables over time?
Answer: 500 lbs / 4 casters = 125 lbs each. That should not be an issue. However, if you want to be certain, we recommend using some plastic or wooden spacers/sliders that will spread the load. If these are being moved every day and the subfloor is not perfectly flat, then it might be better to use the Marmoleum sheeting. We offer samples of both sheeting and click cinch loc so you can test for yourself before purchasing.
Question: What is the texture like? Totally flat, slightly textured, or very textured?
Answer: Texture of the Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc is flat with a matte finish. We suggest you order a sample and check it out for yourself. There are a couple options that are embossed (indicated in the title) and these have more texture.
Question: Ordering sample box now. I have vinyl floors that end where carpet once was and is now bare concrete. What would be good to level the concrete to the vinyl for under the new marmoleum extending over both surfaces?
Answer: Having a flat subfloor to install over is a great idea. Concrete levelers are common among chain and box stores.
Question: Can this be used in outdoor screened in patios?
Answer: Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc has a high density fiberboard core that cannot handle excessive moisture from rain or dew, and as such, is outside the range of Forbo's warranty coverage. Having said that, we have had customers that have used it in dry locations and have had success with it. Another option might be our new WaterProof Cork products. This is not made for outdoor use, but can handle moisture better than the Marmoleum click product.
Question: We are building a new house and plan to use Marmoleum in the kitchen, mudroom and both bathrooms. Would Click Cinch Loc be installed before or after the cabinets? And same question for sheet Marmoleum, before or after cabinets?
Answer: It can go either way really. If you think that you may ever change the cabinetry layout of your rooms, it can be nice to completely cover the floor with the Marmoleum, so that you have more freedom to change a room layout in the future. Often times people install a floor around cabinets if they have no choice, if they move into a home and put in a new floor but are keeping their cabinets. Since you have the choice, it usually makes more sense to lay the floor over the entire room.
Question: Is Marmoleum Click Cinch-Loc ever glued down? How are trim pieces for steps and railings achieved?
Answer: Forbo does not recommend gluing down Cinch Loc. It was intended to be a floating system and Forbo has not conducted any testing on how an adhesive would hold up over time when the core tries to expand/contract. Also, applying adhesive may squeeze up into the grooves and prevent the tiles from clicking into place properly. If you would like glue down tiles, check out Forbo's MCT or Modular tiles as they are both meant to be glued down. Forbo does not make coordinating moldings for their floors but, Versatrim.com offers molding for the Marmoleum click cinch loc.
Question: How do you cut the plank flooring?
Answer: A chop saw, hand saw, circular saw or jigsaw will easily cut through the Marmoleum Click Cinch loc.
Question: Can this be used in a motorhome?
Answer: Marmoleum Sheet goods would be a better option because it is glued to the subfloor and would not bounce around during travel. https://www.greenbuildingsupply.com/s... There are hundreds of beautiful colors to choose from. Samples of all 150 colors are available on our website.
Question: what is easier to install for the same area- with less waste- squares or planks?
Answer: Squares will have slightly less waste than Planks.
Question: With the marbled click tiles are the seams fairly obvious or are they cut so they blend well?
Answer: Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc snaps together very tightly and the seams are barely apparent. With lighter colors like Barbados, the seams will be slightly more obvious. Most people can't see them unless they look really close. The marbled look of darker colors hide the seams best.
Question: What kind of backing does this have?
Answer: Each panel of Forbo Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc is composed of three-parts: Marmoleum on the top, high density fiberboard from recycled wood fiber in the middle, and cork on the bottom. The cork backing creates a durable cushion that also has sound reducing qualities and allows the flooring to be installed without the need of underlayment. However, a vapor barrier like MP Global Moisture Block is suggested.
Question: Can you recommend installers? I live in Northwest NJ.
Answer: Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc is a DIY product which means almost anyone can install it. Yes, tools are needed to cut it and some basic skills will be needed. However, it does not require a high end finish carpenter. Most handymen or women can do this. Here are a few websites that might be helpful: cfiinstallers.org and home advisors.com.There are also many good Youtube videos available as well.If you or your contractor have any questions during installation, please feel free to call us anytime. We are here to help.
Question: I'm remodeling my kitchen, should the lower kitchen cabinets be put in place on subfloor before doing the click cinch marmoleum flooring or can this floor hold the weight and be put in 1st?
Answer: Forbo Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc must be installed according to the manufacturer's instructions. There is nothing in the instructions that addresses this particular question other than the need for space around the perimeter and the need for moisture protection underneath. They also require caulking between the walls and the panels to prevent moisture from getting underneath. Based on our experience, some of customer put flooring underneath and some do not. If applied underneath, there is a potential for the weight of cabinets to inhibit the natural expansion and contraction. This is especially true if it is an island where the cabinets must be screwed down to the subfloor. In that case there must be extra large spaces created around the screws to allow for the movement of the floor. If the Marmoleum Click is not installed under the cabinets, then there must be a space provided between the toe kick and flooring and then covered with a quarter round molding.
Question: I like the Pineapple colored Marmoleum, it's says that it's Click II. Can Click II be used with the Click Cinch Loc color tiles?
Answer: The Marmoleum Pineapple previous generation Click II product has a different click mechanism than the newer Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc, the two different versions of Click will not click together.
Question: What is the plank BACKING made up? My local store said it is composite wood with chemicals in it?
Answer: Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc is a composite with Marmoleum sheeting on the top layer, a formaldehyde free high density fiberboard core and a cork backing. Marmoleum is all natural, the cork backing is all natural and the HDF core is sawdust with a non-toxic glue. All together they have zero VOCs, no off-gassing of hazardous air pollutants and have more third party certifications for indoor air quality than any other flooring. It is one of our most popular and most sustainable floorings.
Question: What is topshield2 made of, polyurethane? The HDF layer, isn't that fiberboard that's glued together? This flooring doesn't emit any VOCs? Trying to find an affordable non-toxic flooring for our baby nursery.
Answer: The Topshield2 is a water based, double UV cured acrylic finish. The HDF is a high density fiberboard made without formaldehyde in the adhesive. This product is made with six natural ingredients and does emit VOCs. It contains no isocyanates, no flame retardants, no biocides or fungicides and no hazardous air pollutants. It also has more third party environmental certifications in Europe and US than any other flooring. It has been available for more than 150 years and performs well in all types of environments. We have been offering this to chemically sensitive customers for more than 22 years with excellent results. We suggest that you order a sample to test for your own tolerances. Samples are available for all colors online.
Question: I am interested in installing over our existing original sheet vinyl. Is that possible? What amount of deflection is allowed with click type marmoleum? We have 3/4 inch plywood subfloor under the sheet vinyl. Trying to avoid using adhesive. Thank you!
Answer: The maximum allowable deflection in the sub floor is 3/16" over an 8 foot radius. Marmoleum Cinch Loc can be installed over the top of existing sheet vinyl as long as it is within these limits. Simply lay a 6' straight edge on the floor and peek underneath it. If it's 3/16" or less, you are good to go. If it is more than that, you will need to either sand down any bumps or fill any dips with a patching compound. Patching or finishing compounds are portland cement fine aggregate fillers that are easy and safe to apply. (Ardex, Chemrex or Mapei brands are all good).
Question: Are the 12"x12" click lock squares compatible with the 12"x36" click planks? I'm looking to make a pattern & wasn't sure
Answer: Yes they are. 3 Cinch Loc squares equal 1 Cinch Loc panel. All must be installed in the same direction.
Question: Where are you located. Can I pick it up myself?
Answer: We are located in Fairfield, Iowa. This product is not stocked and must be shipped directly from Forbo in PA to your residence. Shipping is free for orders > 250 SF. Lead times run 5-8 days depending upon how far you live from PA.
Question: How can you remove streaks off the floor caused by moving furniture?
Answer: Purchase our red scrub pads and use with some Marmoleum Neutral pH Cleaner. That should do the job.
Question: I'm adding a second bath to my home and I would like the floor to be as slip-resistant as possible when wet. I've seen a measure of slipperiness for some flooring called DCOF, dynamic coefficient of friction. Can you tell me what the DCOF value for marmoleum is?
Answer: Unfortunately, Forbo, the manufacture does not test for a dynamic coefficient of friction. However, they do test for the Static Coefficient of Friction (ASTM D 2047). I'd recommend getting some samples of the embossed Click Cinch Loc which does have some texture on the surface and is available in the colors; Pacific Beaches, Cliffs of Moher. There is also the Textura collection of sheet good if your looking at sheet Marmoleum as an option.
Question: I live in Hawaii, it's the Marmoleum click loc suitable for the tropics? Also how much is shipping for 20 boxes of the panels. Thanks
Answer: Yes, we have many customers using Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc in Hawaii. We recommend this, if and only if, you can maintain humidity levels inside your home between 30-60%. If you like to leave your windows open all day, then humidity levels may become too high and there could be potential moisture issues. Please call 800-405-0222 9-5PM CST for a shipping estimate.
Question: Yo, I gotta basement with a floor drain and sump pump. It stays relatively dry when it is not wet. I am looking to finish it up so it's real nice for when the grandkids come to visit. Can I use Forbo Cinch Loc?
Answer: Unfortunately, we would not recommend installing Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc where a floor drain or sump pump is present. As the manufacturer puts it "If a floor drain or sump pump is present, it is there for a reason. DO NOT INSTALL Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc on that level." Towards the end of this year we will offer a new product called Wise Cork that will be a waterproof floor that can handle damp basements. However, be advised that no manufacturer, including the luxury vinyl, Coretec or others with rigid cores do not warrant their floors for floods.
Question: I have several questions about Marmoleum click tile on floors:1. Which one is easier to install: 12x36 or 12x12?2. What chemicals are used in the finish applied on the top of the tile for protection?3. Does this flooring initially emit any chemical odor?4. What vapor barrier do you recommend for a cement floor (2nd-floor condo). Do I need padding? What are the most eco-friendly materials sold by you?5. Is it possible to use wool felt or EarthWeave wool under carpet pad under click on Marmoleum?6. How much does installation cost per sq. ft?
Answer: Thank you for your interest in Marmoleum Click! These answers are true for Marmoleum Click and Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc:1. Installation is the same method for either panels or squares, but since panels are longer it would take less time to cover the floor with panels.2. It is a water-based acrylic finish that is fully cured in the factory.3. Marmoleum does not initially emit any chemical odor. There can be a faint linseed oil smell, but that's it. There is no synthetic odor.4. We recommend Moisture Block. You do not need padding for Click because it has a cork bottom.5. It is not a good idea to use a wool pad under the Click. It is too soft for Click, and having the cushion may cause some stress on the Click joints as the floor gets walked on. Because Click has a cork bottom, a pad is unnecessary anyway.6. Installation costs depend on your installer, and will vary by region. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
