Marmoleum is made with natural materials and has no built in UV additives to prevent fading. Same is true for most hardwood, bamboo, cork, carpeting, fabrics and paint all of which react to sunlight and will fade to some degree. Fading happens over time, but can seem most contrasting when the flooring is brand new. The amount of fading depends upon the angle of the sun and amount of UV light that enters your home. It also depends upon the type of windows and shading. Low E type glass reduces UV light by 50% as does window blinds and window film. It is especially important to move area rugs or furniture around for the first few months so that the fading is evenly distributed. This won't stop the fading but it will reduce the contrast between faded and unfaded areas of the floor. Unfortunately, there is no product on the market that we know of that can magically and stop fading. You can control it but you can't eliminate it.
