According to the Forbo tech department, Marmoleum itself inhibits the growth of mold, but they don't believe they have ever tested the jute itself. If there is mold growing on the concrete, it presents its own set of concerns. If the mold is there prior to installation, it would be a sign of a moisture issue in the space which will need to be addressed prior to installation. RH, Calcium Chloride, & pH testing should be conducted on the concrete slab prior to installation to ensure the proper adhesive is used. If the results come in too high, moisture mitigation may be necessary. Those are words directly from Forbo.
