II have a summer cabin with 70+ year old linoleum. I want to purchase and have Marmoleum installed. The plan is to leave the existing linoleum in place and prepare it for installation of the new flooring on top of it. The cabin experiences temperatures between -30 and +100 degrees Fahrenheit. Can you share information about performance of Marmoleum installed in that way in that environment?

Forbo does not recommend applying new over old linoleum. Better to remove it first. That's in part because the older linoleum typically has wax and other sealers on the surface that will make it difficult for the new product to adhere properly.Forbo recommend their waterproof Marmoleum Cinch Loc Seal that is much easier to install without glue or nails. It clicks together side to side and has an extremely tight seam. Non-toxic and comes in 12x36 panels or 12x12 squares.
