Silicone Vapor Shield is designed as a "vapor retarder" for hardwood floors that are nailed down to plywood subfloors. The silicone wraps around the nails and seals better than most paper products or asphalt products. Plus it has no vocs and no odor. It is approved by the National Wood Flooring Association. While it can be used for concrete subfloors, most hardwood flooring manufacturers require a "vapor barrier" for their warranty to be valid. That means something that blocks all vapor such as 6 ml plastic. We offer a product called Moisture Block that will do the job. Be sure to check with your flooring manufacturer for their special requirements.
