Yes, it can be refinished but because the veneer layer is so thin, it cannot be sanded with a traditional flooring sander. You can recoat with our Vermont Natural Coatings PolyWhey Floor Finish or AFM Polyureseal BP. However, the finish that comes with the flooring is already extremely durable and under normal foot traffic may not need recoating for 7-10 years. When the floor shows signs of wear, simply do a light hand sanding with a dry wall screen and then apply two coats of poly. Feel free to call and discuss with our eco-advisors at that time.
