We generally don't recommend glueing down slab countertops, as they will be very difficult to remove in the future without destroying the top or the cabinets beneath them. For granite, marble, quartz or any solid surface, we only apply a small bead of clear caulking (our ChemLink Durasil) underneath the counter where it meets the cabinet frame. This holds it in place and allows for easy removal of the top in the future. Slabs are very heavy and hard to move anyway and if there is a sink, they are secured in place by the sink, too. Marble is translucent and anything that is not white or clear underneath it will affect the surface, visually.
