That depends upon how much water you drink, how often and how dirty is your water. Obviously, if there are 4 people in your family drinking lots of water each day, the filter will require changing more frequently. The ceramic filters will purify water up to 200 times before replacement. The unit holds 3 gallons. So apx. 600 gallons.
