I have brand new outdoor travertine decking by the pool. My husband wants to seal it. I explained to him that I had a reaction to sealer on travertine Before where it game me chills. I was reading that some of those chemicals can affect your central nervous system. I'm concerned because I have two small grandchildren and I know they won't be wearing shoes fresh out of the pool. Is there any non-toxic products you recommend to seal outdoor travertine?

If it is raw travertine (not otherwise sealed or polished) we would recommend the GBS Penetrating Sealer, the non gloss version. (Gloss would make the surface slick, which does not sound like a good idea next to a pool). We offer a sample size so you can test it in an inconspicuous area to make sure it bonds to the travertine, and you can also confirm your personal tolerance to the sealer as well.
