Kahrs manufacturers most of their hardwood flooring in Sweden and now also in the US (New Estate collection). None of their products contain or emit any hazardous air pollutants. While we test our own products for performance, the environmental and emissions testing and certifications are done by several European organizations such as Nordic Swan, Blue Angel, FloorScore, French A+, ISO 14001, EMAS. Many of these are posted on our website on the right hand margin under Downloads. In Sept. 2019 we visited their factory in Sweden and witnessed how they make each type of flooring. We smelled their adhesives and their finishes and were pleased to confirm what we had known all along; there was nothing toxic used in their products. Once you understand the Swedish culture, you will appreciate their long history for sustainability and their reputation for environmentally conscious products. As always, we recommend that you don't take our word for it. Pick out a few samples from our website and test them for yourselves in your own home. We are always available for questions by phone as well. 800-405-0222 9-5PM CST.
