The words "well used" are entirely subjective. Proper use of any kitchen countertop calls for cutting boards for cutting projects, trivets for hot pans, and wiping up spills and messes as they happen. If your countertops are not used in that way, you may want to go with a more heavy duty type such as quartz. The furniture marmoleum is great, but it would be more susceptible to knife gouges, melting under hot pans, and reacting to unattended spills.
