The CRI Green Label program was established to test and certify for low VOC emissions. Generally it has been carpet products that are tested due to the use of dyes and specifically the latex or polyurethane backings. Since the padding has neither, they have not had a need nor been asked previously about a certification. The testing regimen is also fairly expensive (mid to high four figures) for each product. Synthetic padding suppliers may undergo the testing because of the components in their pad. They are unlikely to test their wool padding in the near future unless there is a greater demand or regulatory reason.
