Hi, I am chemically sensitive and would like to find a eco-friendly carpet--such as wool perhaps. I live in Florida and there is a lot of humidity. My condo is in a flood zone and sits on a very high water table--thus more humidity coming up from the foundation. I have been told that wool carpeting would breed mold in my situation. Do you agree with that assessment? Thank you.

Wool carpeting is very good at mitigating moisture--to a limit. Excessive moisture in the air needs to be handled with dehumidification. Moisture from your subfloor below needs to be sealed properly. This is true for all types of flooring as mold can grow on virtually anything if the conditions are suitable. If your humidity in controlled between 30-65% then wool carpet would do fine. We offer many lines of wool carpet and the purest are EarthWeave, Nature's Carpet and Kaleen brands.
