Free formaldehyde is that formaldehyde that exists naturally in all things. It's in food, in your body and everywhere. It can never be eliminated completely. Forbo does not add any urea formaldehyde which is the toxic type of formaldehyde. However, there are always a few people who simply don't like the smell of linseed oil�but that dissipates within a few days.
