According to the installation instructions: Clean surfaces of dirt, grease, mildew and oil.Existing coatings must be tight and water resistant before applying Safecoat RoofGuard over the top. Existing coatings may let go from surface when topcoated with elastomeric coatings if they have weak bond and/or have a tendency to rewet. Check before application. Patch surface defects with appropriate material and prime before topcoating. One or more coats of Safecoat DynoSeal makes an excellent primer before application of RoofGuard. Use Safecoat DynoFlex Textured Natural on cracks and allow patch to dry before applying topcoat
