I'm trying to find wool underlay for placement under my hardwood floor. I can't seem to find anything other than companies in the UK. Is there a reason the GBS wool underlay is only for purchase along with carpet? Is there another resource you can direct me to for this product in the US? Thanks much

For hardwood flooring you want something without so much give. All the wool cushion we sell (for carpet) is more than 1/8" thick and this amount of give will put a strain on all the joins of your hardwood floor. Meaning the only way to install it for hardwood would be sandwiched between your subfloor and a layer of 5/8" (or thicker) plywood, then your hardwood flooring on top of the plywood.Cork Underlayment or Quietwalk Plus is a better choice. It is dimensionally more stable, handles moisture, and is a better acoustical blocker and insulator than a thin felt pad would be.
