This is my first time installing floor, I plan to do it myself without a contractor. The base of my bedroom floor is thin wooden planks with some staples that used to stabilize carpet (removed now). What else do I need to purchase in terms of tools and under layer, other than the wood? Do I need a layer underneath? If so, what is recommended? Thanks so much.

The manufacturer recommends using an underlayment and a vapor barrier. We recommend using these products: Kahrs Woodloc Hand Block, Kahrs Woodloc Wedge, Kahrs Last Board Puller, Quietwalk Plus.
