It's true that engineered bamboo (and hardwood, cork and marmoleum) are more stable than solid wood. Both solid and engineered expand and contract due to humidity, but the amount of expansion also depends on the width of the panel, size of the room, temperature and humidity. A solid bamboo floor is always nailed or glued down to reduce the expansion to a minimum. An engineered bamboo that is floated will expand more. In a 6' wide bathroom a solid bamboo will have minimal expansion, however, an engineered floor will expand 1/8 to 1/4". However, in a 30' long room, both will expand more and need more space around the perimeter.
