Is this a good prepper filter, as in emergency preparedness? If so, how does this compare to the Big Berkey Water Filter or others?

Yes, indeed this is THE prepper filter! It was originally developed for that purpose, and the other competitors copied the original. AquaRain is the ONLY gravity water filter made entirely in the USA. This includes the stainless steel housing, filters, faucet�everything. Berkey filters (black Berkey), which you mentioned, are imported from China, and the metal either China or India. Other filters claim to be made in America, but they are only assembled here. This is important because you can be confident AquaRain stands up to regulations and that their stainless is pure. (no lead, mercury, etc.).
