Paperstone is a unique composite material of compressed 100% post-consumer recycled paper, PetroFree phenolic resin and natural pigments. It looks and feels warm to the touch and has a smooth, soft patina, much like soapstone. Because it's so dense, Paperstone is impervious to moisture and won't support bacteria growth.
Paperstone is easy to clean and practical for kitchen countertops, vanity tops as well as desks, shelving and window ledges; it is stain and chemical-resistant and will withstand heat up to 350 °F. In fact, it is so durable it was originally used on half-pipes in skateboard parks. Surface cuts or mars may be sanded or rubbed out with an abrasive pad and treated with Paperstone Finish.
It can be fabricated in the field by professionals who shape and repair it with normal finishing tools. Paperstone is a completely sustainable material that's non-toxic and NSF-certified "food safe". The Certified Series is available with FSC-certified paper.
Paperstone has numerous uses such as conference tabletops, signs and plaques, window sills, cutting boards and cutlery handles, furniture, restroom partitions, cabinets, indoor and outdoor wall cladding and many more innovative uses.
Paperstone just feels good to touch and work on, whether in the kitchen, bathroom or outdoors. We have some in our kitchen showroom where we frequently eat lunch. You can imagine the mess, but it cleans and repairs easily.
Originally designed for use in skateboard parks, this product holds up to lots of abuse. It looks beautiful in contrast to light-colored cabinetry and has a patina that gets better over time. It requires some regular maintenance, but not much. There are numerous ways to use this product; it is attractive and works well for a long time.
