Application Instructions

Note: these products only work on surfaces that have not been previously sealed; or, where the previous sealer has worn off or has been removed. We do offer products that can remove old sealers or waxes.  Silicone based sealers must usually be sanded off.

GBS Gloss Sealer has the same features and benefits of the GBS Penetrating Sealer except for a few differences:

1. This product dries to a glossier finish than the matte finish of the GBS Penetrating Sealer.
2. The other difference is in the timing of application. The GBS Penetrating Sealer may be applied just 14 days after concrete cures.  The GBS Colored Sealer, however, requires about 12 months for the concrete to cure.  This is due to the nature of fresh concrete which is high in pH and its relationship with Acrylic which is low pH. 
   
   This relationship can be made more friendly if GBS pH Reducer is used on the fresh concrete.  This will reduce the time required for application of the GBS Colored Sealer to about 14 days. How much time will depend upon the concrete mix and the pH levels. As always, follow instructions carefully before use.
