StarQuartz, QuartzLock2 Urethane Grout
Revolutionary pre-mixed, self-sealing, stain-free grout
QuartzLock2 Urethane Grout is a next-generation eco-friendly grout technology that makes grouting tile easier, safer and more long lasting. Made with a ultra-low odor non-toxic urethane, QuartzLock2 comes pre-mixed and ready-to-use in either a 9 lb. or 18 lb. bucket. Use it on all ceramic, porcelain and natural stone tile indoors or outdoors and even in submerged applications. Once applied, the grout cures to a very hard, self-sealed, semi-elastic finish which results in a colorfast grout that's resistant to chemicals, stains, mold and mildew. Plus, QuartzLock2 won't shrink or crack.
NOTE: NEW QuartzLock2™ RapidCure™ will replace all regular QuartzLock2 as old stock is depleted. Because this will occur through 2014, you may receive the new RapidCure formula when you order QuartzLock2. If so, please refer to installation guidelines shown in right hand margin. QuartzLock2 RapidCure differs only in that it is approved for intermittent water exposure after only 3 days of cure (instead of 7 days as before) and full water submersion after 7 days of cure. The coverage remains the same for both products.
NOTE2: In rare instances, your tile may require special cleaning to remove the grout haze. QuartzLock2 offers a proprietary cleaner for this called Blaze. We strongly encourage you to test QuartzLock2 on one tile first before using everywhere.
QuartzLock2 Urethane Grout is a great replacement/upgrade to epoxy, cement and pigment-based grouts. Unlike epoxy grout, it's both easy to apply and clean up; unlike pigment-based grout, there's no risk of incorrect mixing. The real bonus, however, is that QuartzLock grout never has to be sealed!
QuartzLock2 can be used for indoor or outdoor, commercial or residential, wet or dry and horizontal or vertical applications. It requires no water and it won't sag in vertical applications and won't dust. It's UV stable and non-allergenic; plus leftover grout can be saved for later use instead of being thrown in the dump.
This is an encapsulated product in which the sand component (crystalline silica) is bound in a polymer matrix. The sand contained in QuartzLock2 cannot be inhaled under conditions of intended product use.
How much do you need? Use the Coverage Calculator here.
On the Installation and Coverage Chart, the 9 lb. unit corresponds to the 1-gallon size; the 18 lb. unit corresponds to the 2-gallon size.
For glass and metal tile, we recommend the use of StarGlass Grout, also by StarQuartz.
