Authentic slate recycled roof tile made in USA

Brava's Old World Slate is an architectural roof tile that simulates the natural appearance and performance of real slate. What sets Brava apart from other brands is that each tile has a variegated color, i.e. two or more colors in one that provides a realistic appearance. This multi-coloring process runs all the way through the tile and, therefore, never wears off. Brava's blending of colors is patented and unique. No other roofing tile offers this. Most competing tiles come in solid colors and require special sorting, which is more complex and involves more judgment, not to mention more labor. Custom colors are available, as well as Title 24 Cool colors for California customers needing high UV resistance. Title 24 Cool colors: Cool Arendale, Cool Atlantic, Cool Light Arendale, Cool Weathered.

Brava's Old World Slate has other advantages also: each tile is much thicker and much longer than other manufactured tiles. Most synthetic tiles are 1/8" at the tip and 1/2" thick at the butt end, while Brava Old World Slate is 1/4" thick at the tip and 1" thick at the butt end. This makes it physically stronger and provides a more striking visual profile. Its 22" length also allows for a larger exposure of 10" compared to 6" or 7", which results in a faster installation and more protection. This tile comes in a standard 12" width. Also available in a solid tile for valleys.

Brava Slate is also available in Multi-Width Sizes of 6", 9" and 12" sizes. The Multi-Width style give this version of the tile a striking visual style.

Made in the USA with 100% post-industrial recycled polyethylene, Brava turns plastic destined for the landfill into a beautiful, durable roof. Brava Old World Slate carries a Class 4 impact rating, which is required by insurance companies. All of Brava's products have undergone extensive testing and received 3rd party certifications for the highest levels of wind, fire, and hail resistance; plus they are backed by a 50-year limited warranty.

NOTE: Brava Old World Slate comes in a standard Class C fire rating, but can be upgraded to Class A with a LowE Thermasheet underlayment.

Compared to natural slate or concrete roofing tile, Old World Slate is substantially lighter in weight and requires no special structural engineering or underlayment. Because it is produced using some of today’s strongest recycled plastic, it will last longer than slate or concrete tile. Brava Old World Slate won't break or dent from hail, wind, rain, freeze/thaw, falling trees, or people walking on it. Repairs are rarely needed.

Special starter tiles, hip and ridge tiles, and solid slate accessory tiles (for valleys) are also available. Click here for Accessory items.

Why We Like It

Brava's products have a unique charm that immediately evokes an Old World feeling. It looks and feels natural, and, unless you actually touch it, it's hard to distinguish from real slate. The variegated appearance blends beautifully from tile to tile, always giving the appearance of real stone. Impervious to the elements and virtually indestructible, Brava's Old World Slate adds enormous value to your home and protects it unlike anything else. Walking on this roof will not damage it, nor will wind, hail, falling trees, etc., which is a nice secure feeling. You can't say that about most other roofs. We like that it's 100% recycled and recyclable and has a low impact on the environment. Ask anyone with a slate, concrete or metal roof and you will come to understand their limitations, additional costs and potential for damage. If you're building a new home or remodeling an older home, this is a worthwhile investment to seriously consider.
