9W LED traditional omnidirectional A-Lamp 60W Energy Star compatible
Saves 85% over a 60W incandescent bulb
MaxLite's LED light bulb that looks, feels and works like a standard light bulb but uses only 9 watts of power, saves 85% over a 60-watt incandescent and lasts 20 times longer. The payback is one year or less depending upon usage! After that, it's money in your pocket.
Not only does this super-efficient lamp offer huge savings, but there's no compromise in looks or performance. The light output (lumens) are 800 (comparable to a 60-watt incandescent) and the color is a 2700K (CCT) soft-white, which makes it virtually indistinguishable from a normal incandescent. It is omnidirectional with a 300-degree beam angle that throws light in all directions, making it ideal for a wide range of applications such as pendants, chandeliers, wall sconces and table, floor or ceiling lamps.
Unlike incandescents and compact fluorescents (CFLs), LED lamps create light without wasting energy in the form of heat. They run much cooler and can be handled without gloves. If they break, they don't cause panic because there is no mercury inside like in most CFL bulbs. They also turn on and off instantly, without wearing out a filament or without a slow increase in light or flickering like in CFLs. And they are dimmable down to 10 percent. Special dimmers may be required. (See features below).
But, most importantly, the color accuracy (CRI) is 82 which makes a tomato look like a real tomato instead of pale or ghostly. Gone are the days of weird-looking light bulbs with strange blue or white colors. This bulb will fit into any normal socket, and can be used indoors or outdoors ; it will last for 25,000 hours.
All of MaxLite's products are Energy Star rated which means they are UL listed and LM-79 certified to the highest standards of efficiency and luminous efficacy. This product comes with a 5-year limited warranty.
LEDs may cost more initially than incandescents or CFL bulbs, but due to falling prices, they are an excellent investment that will save you money immediately, and will probably never require your changing a light bulb again.
As prices for LEDs continue to fall year after year, replacing all your light bulbs with LEDs now makes good financial sense. With a payback of less than a year, to keep your old incandescents or CFLs is a waste of money; they look worse over time, create lots of excess heat, and require replacement often. My 90-year-old mother purchased them for her 10' ceilings so she never had to climb a ladder again.
Features & benefits
Low operating cost/big savings — save 85% on energy; payback in approximately one year. Average operating cost is $1.08 per year (depends on rates and usage)
High-efficiency — approximately 89 lumens per watt vs. 15 for incandescents and 50 for CFLs
Reduces cooling costs in summer — operates much cooler; requires less air conditioning
Longer-lasting — no filament or ballast to burn out from over heating; lasts approximately 22 years or 25,000 hours vs. 2,000 hours for incandescents and 5-10, 000 hours for CFLs (based on 3 hrs. per day)
Less lumen degradation — over time, LEDs lose up to 30% of their light output while incandescents and CFLs lose 50% or more
Accurate color — close to incandescents in color, but much more accurate color rendering than CFLs
Dimmable — can be dimmed to 10% with Lutron or Leviton dimmers without much loss of color
Easy-to-install — standard medium Edison base
Use almost anywhere — indoors or outdoors, in chandeliers, sconces, table, floor or ceiling lamps
Soft warm-white appearance — looks like a traditional incandescent, not harsh white or strange blue
5-year warranty — with short payback of one year, this is a great investment
Energy Star — UL listed and LM-79 certified
Rebate-qualified — all utility companies require a minimum of Energy Star standards
Qualifies for LEED points — up to 16 points for energy and atmosphere, indoor environmental quality, sustainable sites, innovation and design process
