Non-toxic, Zero VOC oil to maintain and revive teak and other hardwoods
Bioshield Teak Furniture oil will bring teak furniture or other hardwoods back to life. Unlike most teak oils that contain hazardous solvents, this product is zero VOC and non-toxic. It contains natural flax oil, natural pigments, and lead-free dryers.
NOTE: This oil-based product has an odor when wet. Depending upon temperature and humidity, it could take up to two weeks to cure. At that point, the odor will dissipate. Bear in mind that all linseed-based oils smell like linseed. It is not harmful, but for some it can be strong and therefore we suggest applying where there is good ventilation.
Teak Furniture Oil is easy to apply with a brush or our white nylon scrub pad (See our scrub pad kits). The surface must be cleaned and/or sanded with 100 grit or less sand paper. (Check out Rubio Monocoat Exterior Wood Cleaner). We do not recommend using bleach as it changes the color of the wood and interacts negatively with the oil. Apply only one coat of Teak Furniture Oil. Add a second coat for a darker look, then wipe off any excess.
Whether you have teak furniture or a teak deck on your boat, this product works well and looks beautiful, quickly and easily without all the nasty odors. As always, preparation is more than 50% of the job, so be sure to clean well. Our Rubio Monocoat Exterior Wood Cleaner works very well. Don't use bleach.
