Ecos Exterior Wall paint is an award-winning, high-performance, non-toxic and zero VOC paint that's safe for everyone. It's a sustainable architectural coating in a satin sheen made with no solvents, hazardous chemicals or hazardous pigments and is ultra-low odor. Use on exterior or interior wood, masonry, stone, cement, brick, concrete, etc. Not suitable for concrete or wooden floors. For floors, use Ecos Porch paint instead. Made in USA.
NOTE: Not recommended for oily woods, such as cedar, ebony, teak, olive, or for horizontal substrates where water can pool such as decking..
This product has been specially formulated to inhibit mold, mildew and algae growth but contains no biocide or fungicide. However, it is not suitable for areas that are permanently wet. Like all premium quality paints, Ecos Interior Wall paint is thick and rich, and hides very well. It applies with either brush, roller or spray, leaving a beautiful smooth, even finish. One gallon covers 320-390 SF per coat. Two coats are recommended.
Ecos also makes a variety of specialty paints for flooring, ceilings, trim and furniture, radiators, EMR (electromagnetic radiation) shielding and air purification.
ECOS has industry-leading test performance and accreditations:
The first North American paint manufacturer to complete the Health Product Declaration (HPD) — an open-standard format for accurate, reliable and transparent reporting of product contents for LEED v4 that requires third-party certification;
The only paint manufacturer with Declare Labels showing LBC Red List Free (a transparent ingredients labeling tool developed by the Living Building Challenge for manufacturers to fully disclose all intentionally added ingredients; Red List is a collection of worst-in-class building materials);
The only professional-grade paint certified to ASTM D-4236 (non-toxic);
The only paint company with membership of the Juvenile Products Manufacturer’s Association (JPMA);
The only paint company approved by the national non-profit Healthy Child Healthy World.
See righthand margin for downloadable PDFs including MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet), HPD, Declare label, CDPH (Calif Dept. Pub. Health), ASTM D6886 (VOC test results) and application instructions.
Sample sizes (2 oz) are available in ECOS colors for $9.95 including shipping. Swatch Decks are also available.
Ecos has hit it out of the park in every way. Completely non-toxic and ultra-low odor, amazing coverage, absolutely beautiful colors and durable performance — just like you would expect. Their color matching is extraordinarily good and the vibrancy of colors will both surprise and please you. Pricing is reasonable. If you liked Mythic Paint (no longer in business), you'll love this paint even more. Check out some of their specialty paints such as Air Purifying Paint or EMR shielding paints. Cool stuff.

TIP: Box your paint.
Boxing paint means combining all the paint of one color into a larger container BEFORE painting. This blends any inconsistencies in color, especially on large surfaces where the slightest variation from one can to another could be visible. If you think you may not have enough paint to finish one wall, don't begin until you receive more paint. Box the new gallon with the original and then finish the job.
NOTE: Not recommended for oily woods, such as cedar, ebony, teak, olive, or for horizontal substrates where water can pool such as decking..

Application Instructions
DO NOT THIN.
Stir gently and thoroughly before and during usage.
Applying two coats using a brush, or a 3/8” or 1/2” shed resistant roller cover is generally
best but the product can also be applied via 1800-2500 psi airless spray. When brushing
we recommend using a nylon, polyester, or synthetic blended brush.
Always maintain a wet edge to minimize lapping. Do not over-brush, dry-brush, or layoff.
Avoid going back over coated areas. Best results are normally achieved with two coats. Allow a minimum of 2-4 hours between coats. Avoid temperatures below 41°F (5°C) and above 68°F (20°C). Temperatures outside margin may affect drying properties. DO NOT APPLY IF THERE IS A RISK OF RAIN OR FROST.
Surface or Product Preparation
Surfaces should be sound, clean, dry and free from dirt, loose and flaking material, and
fungal/algal growth. Such growth must be removed and the cause removed prior to
painting.
Loose material may be removed by a stiff brush. Soft or crumbly substrates should be pre-treated with ECOS Stabilizing Solution. WARNING: Older buildings may contain lead-based paint, which requires professional remediation if it is disturbed. If in doubt, consult with a professional from a Lead-Safe Certified Firm or purchase a Lead-Test Kit from your local retailer.
