The Sun-Mar Centrex 2000 is a composting system where a traditional looking toilet can be put in the bathroom. Perfect for medium to heavy seasonal or light residential use, the Centrex 2000 allows for a longer composting cycle and larger waste volumes than the 1000 series. The composting unit sits below the toilet, usually within 15-20 feet and is vented for odor free operation.
Composting toilets use the natural process of decomposition to break down waste into usable nutrient rich top soil. To begin the process, microbes must be added to the drum. As waste continues to enter the toilet, the drum must be turned at least every two to three days. Solid waste must always be followed by a scoop of bulking material. When the toilet is half full, the finishing process begins. 30 days later, there is usable odor free compost.
If used seasonally, compost will need to be removed once a year. If used residentially, compost will have to be removed every few months.Designed for use with the Sun-Mar Sealand 1 pint flush toilet (purchased separately).

The Centrex 2000 features a 370 watt thermostatically controlled heater in a sealed compartment under the unit and the standard Sun-Mar 30 watt turbo fan, with a 2" vent stack to remove evaporating liquid and fresh odors.
