Non-toxic cleaner for new, weathered or treated wood
Rubio Monocoat (RMC) Exterior Wood Cleaner is a completely safe and effective way to clean all types of hardwood and softwood. Perfect for Decks! This cleaner will remove grey discoloration, algae and mildew stains and dirt. Use prior to staining and sealing wooden decks, fences, siding, doors and furniture.
NOTE: This will not strip off paint or stains.
Use with a scrub brush or pad (we recommend using our Application & Scrub Pads, the White or Red option) full strength or, for light dirt, you may dilute 50%. 1 Liter, full strength, will clean approximately 100 square feet.
On new wood, RMC Exterior Wood Cleaner will:
- remove grease and oil that naturally appear on some types of wood.
- help make the pigment in your stain more stable and uniform
- open up the pores of the wood resulting in a smoother, more even finish
- On older wood that's treated and greyed, it will degrease and de-gray, restoring the wood to its truer nature.
NOTE: Do not use this product on padouk wood.
Why We Like It
This product will save you lots of time, energy and money. Although it is expensive, it is not overpriced for what it will accomplish. Most cleaners don't do a very good job of removing the weathered gray look at all. You usually end up sanding if you want to get down to bare wood. This product removes the gray as well as most other naturally occurring stains without having to sand which saves a huge amount of labor and sandpaper. RMC Cleaner also makes staining easier and with better results. Removing dirt and weathering without sanding results in stain colors that are more uniform and true. It's not easy explaining how well this product works, but once you try it, you will never stain without it.

2. Apply the ready-to-use Rubio Monocoat Exterior Wood Cleaner using a wide brush or similar.
For light cleaning, the product can be diluted with water at a ratio of 1:2.
3. Scrub the treated area with a scrubbing brush working length-wise along the wood until it is clean. You can also use a wood boy with black pad.
For stubborn stains, repeat the treatment.
4. Rinse thoroughly with water until all the foam has disappeared.
5. Allow the surface to dry completely.
6. Treat with the Rubio Monocoat Exterior wood protection product of your choice.
