Established in 1865, Godfrey Hirst was Victoria ’s first commercial woollen mill. The 33-hectare Geelong site employs over 600 people across various areas of production as well as corporate administration.
With over 140 years manufacturing experience, Godfrey Hirst produces high quality tufted wool and wool blend carpets both for Australia and the world.
The site contains state-of-the-art continuous dyeing and printing facilities, comprehensive spinning works, computerised tufting systems and advanced finishing equipment for the production of wool, nylon, polypropylene and blended carpets. Thousands of metres of fine tufted carpet are produced from the Geelong plant every day.
