Non-toxic, all-purpose primer
AFM Safecoat Transitional Primer is a premium quality, water-based primer specifically formulated to solve difficult application problems without the use of toxic chemicals. Because it has an extremely tight and efficient polymer network, it can be used as a sealer on toxic surfaces. It can also act as a transitional layer between existing oil-based paint and water-based coatings.
Unlike traditional primers that off-gas for days or months, AFM Safecoat Transitional Primer is odor-free when dried. It works well as a stain blocker on knot holes, water soluble stains and oils, and on tannins and terpenes in wood which can “bleed through” to the surface.
This primer is for use on previously painted walls, ceilings, wood and wood trim, fully cured plaster (below 10 pH), stucco and masonry. For new sheetrock, use AFM's New Wallboard Primecoat HPV.

Alert: If you're using it as a sealer, be sure to wait at least 24 hours before applying a top coat. This means more than simply dry to the touch
